Cars 3 Piston Cup Race Game Review & Competition

I have a Cars obsessed little boy at home and since the very second he started seeing the trailers for Cars 3 on TV he has been desperate to go and see it. We’ve been able to put it off for a little bit with the new Piston Cup Race Game from Jumbo.

See what we thought of it and also get a chance to win a game for yourself in my competition.

L with his Cars 3 Piston Cup Race Game

The game comes in a black and red Cars 3 branded box as you would expect. Inside is everything you need to play the game apart from 2 AA batteries.

The game is easy to set up, the circular base comes in four parts and pops together like a puzzle. The spinning racetrack then slots on top with two flags and the Piston Cup easily attaching to the racetrack.

You then have your playing cards, 4 car player markers, game rules and dice.

Aimed at ages 4 plus I would say you really want to stick to this, unless you have a very calm younger child with a decent attention span. I found that with L, even at 3 1/2 found the whole Cars idea added with a rotating racetrack was just too exciting and he went off on his own little playing game before we could get him ‘back on track’.

I’ll be honest it took me a couple of reads of the instructions to get what I was supposed to be doing, that may have had something to do with the crazed child who had just invented his own game though.

When we got going (by we I mean Husb and I, L was doing his own thing entirely) it’s actually a really fun, fast paced game. We enjoyed it as two grown adults and when L gets just that bit older, or calmer he will enjoy it too.

I’ve linked to the official Jumbo YouTube video for the game It explains the actual game play far better than I can and you can see the rotating board in action which I didn’t manage to capture very well.

All in all I actually really like this game. It’s quick to set up. Takes around twenty minutes to play which is just right for the age range. It is exciting and fun and a really nice way to spend time as a family.
