How we use Heinz Soup

Of course I use Heinz soups as soup. A meal in their own right. A quick meal at that. But it’s not all you can do with them. With the weather turning cold and the nights being oh so dark, oh so early, here are a couple of my favourite winter soup uses.

Learning to Cook at School of Wok

Last Friday we went to London for a cooking lesson at School of Wok. Our session was an Introduction to Thai and it was amazing. Even though it was only a week ago, and I can’t believe how quickly that has gone, I would go again tomorrow.

I came across School of Wok in July when I went to the Dexham Christmas showcase, they had teamed up with School of Wok on a range of Woks and utensils. During the event we had a mini lesson with Jeremy Pang the head chef there and met a lot of the team. I was really eager to go back so we arranged a full lesson.  Continue reading Learning to Cook at School of Wok

He is happy with the attention for the day and it keeps both the cost and stress manageable for me, just, it’s still stressful filling your house with people, family or not!

My #FloraLunchBox Challenge

How do you get on packing lunches? I struggle. It’s not that I can’t pack a box, of course I can. It’s just getting in some variety and a good level of nutrients that gets to me. So I was intrigued about the #FloraLunchBox Challenge with BritMums.

I pack lunches for my husband at work, myself on days I work and for L if we are going on a day out somewhere. Thankfully nursery take care of him food wise when he is there and feed him amazing food. I’ve threatened to join them for lunch on more than one occasion.

Because when I pack lunch everybody tends to get the same thing. Every. Single. Time.

Aldi #MamiaDaysOut Challenge

I love Aldi. I’ll make no bones about it. It’s cheap, stocks my favourite lemonade with coconut and lime in it and my second favourite bottle of Pinot. The SpecialBuys are some of my favourite things ever. Oh and the nappies and wipes are amazing.

My Aldi love story has only been added to recently. You see I have been taking part in the Aldi #MamiaDaysOut Challenge with BritMums so I was sent a very lovely hamper filled with goodies to get out and about with from the Mamia range.

Lunch at Turtle Bay Norwich

A couple of weekends back we headed to Turtle Bay in Norwich for a family meal. As I had been to the VIP opening night a few weeks back I was really excited to be returning and trying out the menu. Husb was potentially even more excited as the guys in his office had been raving about it.

So we turned up at lunch time on a Saturday that Norwich City were playing at home, it was quiet when we arrived but as you can imagine the restaurant did nothing but get busier and busier.

Rain and Popcorn – My Weekend

It was our wedding anniversary in July, so back in April I booked us tickets to go and see Top Gun at an outdoor cinema event at the stunning Blickling Hall.

We’d never been to an outdoor cinema before and were both really excited. It would be a lovely way for us to spend an evening together. We roped my parents in to babysit and finally after months of waiting it was time for out night out.  Continue reading Rain and Popcorn – My Weekend
