The Broads National Park in Norfolk is home to over 11,000 species of wildlife, some of the UK’s rarest plants and animals, including the nationally protected fen orchid and crested buckler fern, the Norfolk Hawker dragonfly, the Marsh Harrier, Swallowtail Butterfly and the ‘booming’ bittern!

With its 125 miles of lock free, navigable waterways the ideal way to explore the Norfolk Broads and its wildlife is from the comfort of your own cruiser. You have the freedom to go where you like when you like taking in the sights as you cruise through the heart of Broadland.

Hebert Woods can also offer a range of boating options available to help you discover the wildlife and beauty of the Norfolk Broads.  From sailing your own dinghy or canoeing, to hiring a day boat, there is something for everyone. Take a day and cruise the Broads at your leisure in one of our brand new Picnic Boats, seating up to ten people and available for full day hire when you pre-book.

Herbert Woods has a large fleet of day boats available to hire throughout the season. These can seat up to eight people and are perfect for touring, doing a spot of fishing or having a secluded picnic. Day boats are available on a first come, first served basis.

Explore the tributaries and back waters of the Broads that cannot be accessed by cruiser or day boat by hiring a canoe or kayak.  Alternatively, hiring a sailing or rowing dinghy is another great way to discover the Broads National Park.

For day boat hire why not stay in one of the thirteen waterside cottages and apartments which are the perfect choice for a well-deserved break?  Whether you’re into fishing, walking, wildlife, cycling or just wish to appreciate the Norfolk Broads and surrounding countryside, they provide an ideal base from which to explore.
