A couple of weeks ago now I was invited to the new Hochanda studios for a behind the scenes tour and a master class crafting session with one of their presenters.
In case you’re not familiar with Hochanda, it is a TV Channel dedicated to selling crafting products. I can’t think of a craft material you can’t get from them, it’s very inclusive, which I love. So if your passion is needle craft or woodwork, or anything in between, you will be catered for. Plus because it is a TV shopping channel you get to watch these great shows demonstrating the products, filled with inspiration and handy tips.
For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
It hs been one busy week! Husb has been busy, I have been busy, even little L has been busy. Having the Bank Holiday was a nice treat though.
Whilst we have been doing some lovely things I am hoping this week and next are a bit calmer.
So without further ado here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:
With summer just around the corner, I’ve been thinking of fun activities to do around the home. Juggling life with a husband and toddler can sometimes leave play time a little stagnant and repetitive so I had a brain wave. What if I transformed our garage into a garage play-den? As you may or may not know, next week is National Stationery Week. The guys over at Stabilo believe that stationery matters and so do I. They aren’t just making functional and practical items, it’s so much more than that.
To me stationery is a bit of an obsession. I love it. As well as needing it for everyday and mundane tasks, I need it for my own peace of mind. To find my inner calm and sanity. My stationery says so much about me and I belive that if you can have a better, more fun, prettier item then why would you not use it.
I love a bit of chalkboard fun with L and I have to write-up a lot of advertising chalkboards for work so when the guys behind Chalkola got in touch about their kids safe, brightly coloured and neatly sized chalkboard markers I was eager to give them a go. Just before Christmas I was contacted by the wonderful people at Crafter’s Companion, a leading papercraft company who create and sell some amazing products that get us crafty types all excited. They wanted to know if I would like to review the recently launched Colorista Range from Spectrum Noir.
I love colouring in, it’s something that is quite easy to fit in around everything else and something I can even do with L. I can set him up with his own colouring book and crayons whilst I enjoy my own. So of course I said yes. Continue reading The Spectrum Noir Colorista Range→
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. 2017 is here, I can barely believe it, I swear I only blinked and a year just disappeared. I’m not really one for a New Year’s resolution, though I can see why so many people are, nothing like a new year for a fresh start. I just don’t tend to be that organised. I do, however, have a few hopes and dreams for the coming year. Continue reading This Plus That Equals…. A New Year→
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. We’re midway through December and it’s nearly Christmas. Christmas is and always has been my favourite time of year. I throw myself into it whole heartedly and now I’ve got L to share it with I’m just even more excited. I’ve already shared my Christmas wishes, but here is a little bit about how I like to prepare for the big day. Continue reading This Plus That Equals…. Christmas→
