This Plus That Equals…. Unable to Help

This plus that equals…. unable to help

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week I’ve been feeling a bit helpless. Completely unable to help in fact.

L is struggling at nursery and I’m at a complete loss how to help him.

Fun and Healthy Snacking with Googly Fruit Organic

L is obsessed with snacks. He could have literally just finished a three course meal and he would be asking for a snack. This means I need a variety of healthy and delicious snacks on hand. So when a jam packed full box of Googly Fruit Organic arrived on the doorstep I was very happy.

This Plus That Equals…. Saving Time

This plus that equals…. Saving Time

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about time savers. Saving time is important to us all, so here are a few things I’ve found help me.

I never seem to have enough time. I am always busy. But a bit of multi tasking here and a few extra minutes spent in the evening do seem to help.

Feeling Calm #62

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Well I nearly skipped this week, but the reasons I nearly skipped it are the exact same reasons I needed to write it.

I’ve been feeling more than a little overwhelmed these last few days. Logically there’s no real reason for it, so I know it is just me and my issues. I have been putting things off which is ridiculous as it doesn’t help. I’m tired, so tired, in fact I opened up my laptop to start writing, then promptly fell asleep. It is the middle of the day!

Now, however, I’m awake. With lots to do. Starting with my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Could Hygge Reduce The Stress Of Parenting?

Could Hygge Reduce the Stress of Parenting?

It’s no secret that Denmark is famous for being the happiest nation on earth. Now hygge-mania is sweeping the UK with thirteen books on the subject hitting the best seller chart in 2016. But can hygge, the untranslatable Danish concept of cosiness and quality time together, still be applied when you have a new baby in the house? My Name Label Review

When the guys at My Name Label got in touch to see if I would like to try out some of their labels for clothing, shoes and belongings their timing couldn’t have been better.

I had actually been looking online to buy some labels for L’s things, but I didn’t really know what to go for, or if what I chose would be any good. I needed shoe labels, this is what had sparked the search, but I also wanted to be able to label things like his water bottle, toys, coats and clothes. Everything really.

Feeling Calm #60

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

So for like the first time ever I have written up all my reviews bar one that, due to it being a mattress, needs me to use it for a while first. I know it won’t last for long as I’ve got some exciting stuff lined up but it’s a good feeling.

We also found time for ourselves this weekend, which was very much needed.

So here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Feeling Calm #59

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

So last week I mentioned I was feeling stressed due to some changes at work and feeling bogged down with blog work. Well as I wrote I thought to myself that I could completely fix it. So I did.

I got my bum out of bed ridiculously early one morning and blogged my little heart out. Bam, one problem solved.

As for work, well, I’ve done what I do best. I’ve gone in with a smile on my face and a determination that regardless of the attitude of those around me I will be positive. That, coupled with a good bitch about my day to husb and a gin when I get home, means I’m doing OK.

So here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days, they’ve been good:

Our #RailAdventure to Somerleyton Hall & Gardens

This summer I had promised L a trip on a train. I hadn’t given it much thought, I just knew it would be something he would enjoy. So when Greater Anglia launched their #RailAdventure campaign and wanted to know if we would like to take part I leapt at the chance.

Waiting and watching for trains at Wymondham Station

We are lucky enough to be situated close to two rail stations, Diss and Wymondham. In fact we spend quite a bit of time at Wymondham Station thanks to the delightful Station Bistro. A lovely establishment that allows us to enjoy great food whilst watching the trains go by, it one of L’s and mine favourite spots.

A Constant Battle – Toys vs Batteries

I cannot be the only person who feels this way, but kids toys now need a ridiculous amount of batteries. It’s not one or two. It’s three, or four, or even more. So I asked Varta if they could help. I’ve worked with them before using the amazing power packs they make, so I figured Varta Rechargeable Batteries would be perfect.

This all started when I bought L a toy at Christmas that flagged up a warning before I completed the purchase. I was warned that this toy required 4 AA Batteries and 4 AAA Batteries. Yes one toy needed 8 batteries.
