Getting a good night’s sleep is really important and I have been spending a few months now slowly but surely rearranging my routines and habits to ensure I’m getting to bed at a reasonable time, but if once I’m there, it’s not perfect for sleeping then what’s the point.

I was lucky enough to be sent some products from Sleepy People to help me get more comfortable.
I love our bedroom, it’s my favourite room, beautifully decorated and with calm colours and pretty floral patterns. It is comfortable with a king size bed, memory foam mattress and feather bedding which I love.
But I fear I forgot some simple steps when we bought everything, I hadn’t worried about a mattress protector or pillow protectors. So that is what I was sent a lovely Silentnight Anti Allergy Mattress Protector, with over sized, deep, elasticated sides it fits easily and firmly round the mattress.

It is way easier to wash a mattress protector than a mattress, thus prolonging the life of the mattress. I hadn’t really thought of this before, obviously fitted sheets are thin and during the night we sweat and that goes into the mattress, yuk! Worse when you have a toddler taking over the bed there tend to be spillages, drinks, food and invariably some wee. The mattress protector helps catch some of this so it can just be washed.
Plus if you suffer from allergies this has been made to help keep everything at bay, but as none of us do have allergies I can’t vouch for it effectiveness.

We were also sent some Silentnight Pillow Protectors with Febreze. These lovely thick protectors help stop naughty feathers poking me in the face at night and if you give them a rub the fresh lavender scent of the Febreze comes through which is very pleasant.
These really have given our pillows a new lease of live, I was starting to think I was going to have to replace them, but the protectors have given them a lovely sturdy outer now and really keep those feathers at bay. The fresh scent is lovely too, it’s like going to bed in fresh sheets every night. I’m not sure what happens to the scent after several washes, I’m guessing it must run out eventually, but so far so good. To activate the scent all you have to do is give the fabric a good rub and some is released, easy.

To be fair I can’t believe I haven’t always had these, I’m sure most everybody else has and you probably all think I’m a bit daft only just working this out for myself.
Sleepy People have a great range of products, from bedding to heated blankets, all picked to help you have the best night’s sleep.
