Can you believe Christmas is nearly upon us?
For me it’s super exciting as it’s my favourite time of year. Even sooner than Christmas it’s time for advent calender’s.

At home we have a lovely wooden one for L that we get to fill ourselves but I love looking for something different that we can do to add to our family Christmas traditions.
This year I’m really excited about the lovely advent jigsaw we have from Wentworth and the amazing family activity calendar from Illustries.
The beautiful kids puzzle from Wentworth is a stunning Christmas Village Advent Calendar Puzzle. You get to watch the magic unfold as your Christmas Village comes to life right up until Christmas Eve when you add the final character. It can be used again and again. making it an easy way to build a new family tradition and the shaped ‘whimsy’ pieces make it extra magical. I love the 3d element to it as well.

The calendar is £25 and 26 pieces with 24 stand-up characters, you can get it from www.wentworthpuzzles.com
The ‘Countdown to Christmas’ advent activity calendar from Illustries is an engaging activity book designed to keep little (and bigger kids AKA me) amused throughout the month of December, while creating special family memories along the way.
I’m really excited about this as it is beautiful. Mainly though I just love the idea of having a different festive activity the three of can do each day, be it baking or writing to Santa. All the organising has been done for me, there is a quick shopping list popped on a little bit of paper at the front so I can get organised in advance. Just a few baking bits and a small gift for a treasure hunt.
When we have completed the calendar I then have a festive memory book all completed for me to keep and look back on wistfully when L is too big to want to these things with me. It’s something I can see me purchasing every year.

It’s only £14.95 + P&P and can be purchased from www.illustries.com
So that’s us the advent, I’ll fill his wooden advent calendar with chocolates, the elves from last year will be back, we will puzzle every evening and do an activity everyday.
PS. If someone wants to get me my own Gin Advent Calendar I won’t say no, hint hint Husband.
Disclosure – I was gifted these items for consideration, as I love them I’ve written about them. Keep an eye on Instagram during December if you want to see us using them.
