Project Bridesmaid #2

So in about a year I am going to be a bridesmaid for my little sister. This is just the kind of goal I need to start losing some weight and getting healthier, which all ties in nicely with my quest to be a calmer, happier and healthier person.

I have decided to vlog about my journey as that will give me a visual reminder of where I’ve been and where I am and as it’s something that makes me rather uncomfortable it will also help to keep me in check. Plus it’s always good to push yourself.

During my journey I will be getting to try all kinds of new products and sharing my experiences of them with you. Continue reading Project Bridesmaid #2

Our Broads Adventure with Herbert Woods

Just over a year ago we had a marvellous holiday on the Norfolk Broads, staying on one Herbert Woods‘ boats, Silver Light. This year we have been incredibly lucky to return, this time staying in one of their luxurious holiday homes, The Bittern.

The weather forecast before we left had been typically British, especially for a bank holiday, so we were looking forward to being able to chill out in a warm and comfy cottage in the evenings.  Continue reading Our Broads Adventure with Herbert Woods

Feeling Calm #12

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends to help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days: Continue reading Feeling Calm #12

A Great Night’s Sleep with Sleepy People

Getting a good night’s sleep is really important and I have been spending a few months now slowly but surely rearranging my routines and habits to ensure I’m getting to bed at a reasonable time, but if once I’m there, it’s not perfect for sleeping then what’s the point.

Things to Know about Working from Home #3

Getting people to understand can be tough

When I started blogging two years ago the aim was to help me find a way, any way, to stay at home. I tried a few different things, took a few courses and found myself working as a Social Media Manager. I was able to leave my admin job and am now officially self employed. I thought I would start sharing some of the things I have learnt along the way.

As I work from home I often find that people expect me to be free, free to see them, free to do little favours, available to take on extra work. The expectation is that I am the one to turn to do get things done, in a way that it simply wasn’t when I had an office job. Managing these expectations can be tough, especially when it leads to disappointment. I thought I’d share some of my main issues with you.

The World Now

I don’t normally write about anything vaguely political, I don’t pretend to have the knowledge required. In fact I still don’t even know if I should publish this.

This week, with the terror attacks in Brussels, so soon after those in Paris, the world is becoming a worse place. People are becoming less tolerant than they were before, which scares me and shocks me at the same time. People also seem to be becoming numb to these horrific things. Continue reading The World Now
