Kids & Parents Gaming Tips from PlayStation

A couple of weekends ago we took a little trip to London with L. We had been invited to a Parenting & Kids Showcase with PlayStation.

For L it was a really exciting day, he got to go on the Tube, hang out with Mummy & Daddy, as well as getting to play a lot of games! He had a fab time.

I’m not a massive gamer, in fact I barely touch games at all. Husb loves it be we are always short on time, so his console gets a bit neglected and quite honestly it’s not something we’ve really done with L at all yet.  Continue reading Kids & Parents Gaming Tips from PlayStation

Kids Parcel – Mystery Box Review

L is one very lucky boy. Very lucky indeed. He was recently asked if he would like to receive a mystery box, filled with toys, from Kids Parcel. Timing wise it couldn’t have been better, arriving just a few days before his birthday.

He was so excited when it arrived after he’d been at nursery all day it was a struggle to get him to bed. Thankfully we managed and the next day we opened it up together. Bright and early!  Continue reading Kids Parcel – Mystery Box Review

Feeling Calm #39

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Last week I worked full-time hours for training and it hit L really hard, he was with grandparents and nursery and barely saw us. He’s got some real separation anxiety and it’s been tough.

This week has been a bit more back to normal, I’ll be working today and hopefully finding out my hours for the next few weeks. I hope I can start to find a routine and I have to make sure that L isn’t put in that same position again.

The uncertainty and lack of organisation has been stressful for me as well. I really hate no knowing what’s happening and it’s put an awful lot of strain on me.  So I hope things improve quickly.

Without further ado here are my 10 moments from the past 7 days;

Creating a #BrightFuture with Unilever

Unilever and BritMums recently set a very interesting challenge. The #BrightFuture initiative is all about uniting communities and encouraging small changes in everyday life that will in turn have a positive impact on the world.

It all sounds very big doesn’t it? I have very little to do with my local community and honestly don’t think about the things we do at home as having an impact on anyone, let alone the world. Continue reading Creating a #BrightFuture with Unilever

L’s 3rd Birthday Party

L turned three the other weekend so to celebrate we had a little birthday party with our family.

He is happy with the attention for the day and it keeps both the cost and stress manageable for me, just, it’s still stressful filling your house with people, family or not!

This Plus That Equals… Potty Training Dilemmas

This plus that equals…. potty training dilemmas

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. The time has finally come in our house for potty training and we are in full flow. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. There are a surprising amount of potty training dilemmas we have come across, so I thought I’d share them and be of absolutely no help to any parent anywhere.

Halloween and Autumn Crafts with Baker Ross

It seems to be ages since we last had a Baker Ross delivery. L and I have missed the fun crafts and easy inspiration they provide.

Last week, to get us ready for Halloween and get into the Autumnal spirit we got a great selection of crafts delivered. I love the fact that at only three years old they still have loads that L can join in with. From simple colouring in to more interesting crafts.

Ruth’s Work from Home Journey with NuSkin

So as you all know it’s my dream to Stay At Home, and I’ve been exploring ways to do that. I’ve even managed it for the last year but due to a change in circumstances I’ve actually had to find myself a little supermarket job.

Whether that ends up being long-term or not who knows. But I’ve not given up on my Stay At Home dream. I love being my own boss, even if it’s stressful and hasn’t gone to plan. The flexibility it offers, not only around my son but my life is immeasurable. The pleasure and satisfaction it gives me is also amazing.

So when Ruth got in touch to see if I would help spread the word about her new business venture with NuSkin, of course I said yes. We’ve got to help each other as much as we can. Continue reading Ruth’s Work from Home Journey with NuSkin

Feeling Calm #38

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

This week has been crazy. We’ve done so much. We’ve been to London for a PlayStation Family event. I’ve been training, a lot. Mainly though L has turned three. Three whole entire years old. How did that happen?

Emotion wise I’ve been bouncing from amazingly happy to crushingly sad. For me this is a real worry as it’s one of my biggest indicators that the darkness is closing in. Another classic sign for me is the cold sores. Whenever I get really low I get cold sores. The 14 I have invading my lower lip at the moment though, is quite frankly, a piss take. At least because I know this I can concentrate finding a level place.

I need to find time to start meditating again. I’ve been having my lunch breaks in my car, so this seems like the ideal time for a few moments reflection. I also need to be writing, so I’m busy. Luckily I have plenty to write about. Without further ado here are my 10 moments from the past 7 days;

This Plus That Equals…. Things I’m Excited About Right Now

This plus that equals…. things I’m excited about right now

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. After a few weeks of feeling a bit low I’ve decided to focus on things I’m excited about right now.

It’s nice to have things to look forward to and there is some seriously cool stuff coming up.
