The Milky Way Express
Our last full day in Devon was a bit of rainy and miserable one but not to be put off we headed to The Milky Way Adventure Park that has over 110,000 sq ft of indoor play, it was definitely the right choice and couldn’t have been a more perfect place to spend our day. Tree trunk hive
Our trip to Quince Honey Farm did not start well, as it was around an hour from where we were staying at Sandaway Beach Holiday Park and some of the other days out we went on we knew it was perfect napping distance so decided to go one afternoon. We went after a really great morning at The BIG Sheep and the little one slept the whole way there, on the bizarre detour we took and in the car park when we gave up finding places to drive. Watching the ducks
This is the only place we went this year that we had been to before, we had visited The BIG Sheep last year and all had so much fun we just had to come back. When we had previously visited I had really wanted to watch the duck trials and thanks to L only managed about 60 seconds of it, so I had to come back and husb had really wanted to ride the roller coaster but it wasn’t quite finished, so he had to come back and well L just wanted to give the sheep their tea, so clearly he had to visit as well.Continue reading Our Day at The BIG Sheep→

Exploring at Watermouth Castle
We went to Watermouth Castle on our first full day in Devon, following two days of travelling and therefore two nights in different bedrooms we picked Watermouth Castle because it was literally 5 minutes from Sandaway Beach Holiday Park where we staying. I liked the idea that we could have a lazy morning and head there for when it opened, stay as long as L wanted and then be back to the caravan in minutes for more laziness. Knightshayes is such a pretty house
We went to Knightshayes on our first day in Devon, we had split up our journey from Norfolk to Devon by staying in Winchester the night before and handily Knightshayes was practically on the way to our accommodation at Sandaway Beach Holiday Park. Continue reading Our Day at Knightshayes→
Last week we were on holiday in Devon and we were lucky enough to have some amazing days out, but sometimes planning things to do with a toddler can be difficult, there’s a lot to think about, cost, activities, changing facilities, food, the list goes on. So here’s a run down of where we went and why we think they are awesome places to bring a toddler for some days out in Devon. Continue reading Top Toddler Days Out in Devon→
Last week were lucky enough to have a family holiday in Devon, we were based at Sandaway Beach Holiday Park in Combe Martin, North Devon thanks to the lovely people at John Fowler Holidays.
Devon is about 6 hours in the car from us, so with such a long way to travel there are a few things that we really need to have on arrival. A straight forward check in, something fun to do with L, food and a comfy bed. We were me with all these things. It was lovely.

HERBERT WOODS HITS 90 YEAR BOATING HISTORY MILESTONE
Herbert Woods 90th Birthday
As you know we have enjoyed holidays with Herbert Woods, used the boats, relaxed in a cottage and explored the Broads with them, so I’m very excited to tell you about their birthday plans and hopefully we’ll see you there.
Herbert Woods, who trained as an apprentice boat builder in Potter Heigham in 1907, was one of the first pioneers of Broads Tourism and now the company, which he formed in 1926 and is still going strong today, celebrates its 90th birthday this year with a grand Regatta being planned on Sunday 10th July 2016. In a couple of weeks we are going on holiday to Devon and the lovely John Fowler Holidays are putting up with us for a few nights at their Sandaway Beach resort.
It is fair to say that we can’t wait, we went to Devon last year and explored a lot of the South of the county so to return to the North this year will be epic. It’s a long car journey for us, 6 hours, without stops, so you know we’ve either got to be super excited or just plain crazy to do that with a toddler.
