As we did so many amazing trips when we were in Devon thanks to Devon’s Top Attractions, I wanted to share them all with you, so over the next few days expect plenty of posts about the places we went, what we loved, what we didn’t and most importantly what toddler L thought of them, so in this article I’ll tell you about our trip to Watermouth Castle.
We went to Watermouth Castle on our first full day in Devon, following two days of travelling and therefore two nights in different bedrooms we picked Watermouth Castle because it was literally 5 minutes from Sandaway Beach Holiday Park where we staying. I liked the idea that we could have a lazy morning and head there for when it opened, stay as long as L wanted and then be back to the caravan in minutes for more laziness. Devon is about 6 hours in the car from us, so with such a long way t travel there are a few things that we really need to have on arrival. A straight forward check in, something fun to do with L, food and a comfy bed. We were me with all these things. It was lovely.

In a couple of weeks we are going on holiday to Devon and the lovely John Fowler Holidays are putting up with us for a few nights at their Sandaway Beach resort.
It is fair to say that we can’t wait, we went to Devon last year and explored a lot of the South of the county so to return to the North this year will be epic. It’s a long car journey for us, 6 hours, without stops, so you know we’ve either got to be super excited or just plain crazy to do that with a toddler. Just over a year ago we had a marvellous holiday on the Norfolk Broads, staying on one Herbert Woods‘ boats, Silver Light. This year we have been incredibly lucky to return, this time staying in one of their luxurious holiday homes, The Bittern.
The festival started on Friday but we sadly couldn’t make the opening ceremony and it runs until the 17th, so there’s still plenty of time to visit and enjoy the amazing light installations and if you’re lucky book onto one of the fab events. As it’s half term week it would be a fab thing to do with the kids. Continue reading Our Valentine’s Weekend at e-Luminate Cambridge 2016→
