You may remember during the Easter Holidays Greater Anglia launched their #RailAdventure campaign and we headed out for a great Adventure to Somerleyton Hall. Well to kick off the Half Term we’ve been on another #RailAdventure, this time we went to Stowmarket and The Museum of East Anglian Life.
Now I’m not a fan of heights, I have no co-ordination and was a very long way out of my comfort zone. It was still one of the highlights of my week though. Husb on the other hand was in his element.
The Benjamin Foundation’s annual Butterfly Walk on Sunday 25th June
East Anglian charity, The Benjamin Foundation, will hold its fourth annual Butterfly Walk at Sandringham Country Park on Sunday 25th June.
The Walk will follow one of Sandringham’s trails, and is around three miles long, meandering through the Country Park’s historic woodland. Quiz questions are posted along the route, providing added fun for adults and children, with prizes for the best set of answers in each age group up for grabs at the end of the Walk. Within the Country Park there are plenty of perfect picnic spots, a large children’s play area, restaurant, gift shop and a farmers’ market, so a lovely day out for the whole family.
This plus that equals…. our favourite Norfolk day trips
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about our favourite Norfolk day trips (sometimes spilling into Suffolk). Those trips we make again and again.
In Norfolk we’re lucky to be surrounded by stunning coast, fab tourist attractions and activities that are fab whatever the weather. We have a few trusty fall backs though, so here they are.
This summer I had promised L a trip on a train. I hadn’t given it much thought, I just knew it would be something he would enjoy. So when Greater Anglia launched their #RailAdventure campaign and wanted to know if we would like to take part I leapt at the chance.
We are lucky enough to be situated close to two rail stations, Diss and Wymondham. In fact we spend quite a bit of time at Wymondham Station thanks to the delightful Station Bistro. A lovely establishment that allows us to enjoy great food whilst watching the trains go by, it one of L’s and mine favourite spots.
If your mum prefers adrenalin and fast cars to flowers and cuddly toys, tickets to The Supercar Event (24 and 25 June) at Dunsfold Park, home of Top Gear, will make the perfect alternative Mother’s Day gift. All proceeds from the family event go to The Children’s Trust charity. Continue reading An Alternative Gift For Mums That Like Life In The Fast Lane
How time flies. This time two weeks ago I was getting ready for my sisters hen party and in another two weeks she will be getting married. It has come round in the blink of an eye.
Thanks to the hard work of a lot of people the hen party was brilliant and as I never do this kind of thing I thought I would tell you all about it.
The Broads National Park in Norfolk is home to over 11,000 species of wildlife, some of the UK’s rarest plants and animals, including the nationally protected fen orchid and crested buckler fern, the Norfolk Hawker dragonfly, the Marsh Harrier, Swallowtail Butterfly and the ‘booming’ bittern!
New to north Norfolk is Cromer’s only campsite, launching from the last week of July and for the month of August 2017.
For me this is really exciting as I have such fond memories of camping at nearby East Runton as a kid and walking into Cromer for the carnival, so actually being able to camp in Cromer itself will be amazing.
We have never been away at Christmas time before, not once. But with work being a bit stressful and all the upheaval we have gone through recently I couldn’t have been happier when Bluestone got in touch to see if we would like to stay for a few nights.
A holiday park with a difference, Bluestone is set in a beautiful National Park in Pembrokeshire, Wales. We loved Pembrokeshire last time we visited, and were familiar with the area There is loads to see and do, plenty of walking, attractions and a truly stunning coastline. We were so excited to be returning, especially as Bluestone had everything we needed, right there, there would be no additional travelling, spending or time. Just a few days to kick back and relax. Oh and Christmas was in full swing which was really exciting. All the December breaks included tickets to ‘The Kingdom of the Elves’.
