We joined in with Christmas Jumper Day today. I wore my jumper to work, L wore his to nursery and apparently wouldn’t take it off all day, even though he was really hot. Bless him, that’s dedication right there. The we all went to see the Christmas lights in Norwich this evening. But I think Cadbury might have just put us to shame. To celebrate Christmas Jumper Day, Cadbury has created the ultimate festive jumper knitted entirely from chocolate. Yes, knitted from chocolate.

This one of a kind work of art will go on public display at Cadbury World, in Birmingham starting tomorrow (well today if you are reading this at a sensible time, having not been to see Christmas lights) and was created by chocolate artist Jacqui Kelly, whose previous works includes the hyper realistic crown for the Queen’s Jubilee cake.

The Cadvent chocolate jumper took three people over 80 hours to make and used over 320 metres of chocolate ‘wool’, which was hand rolled and twisted together to create a stunning knitted effect. Honestly my mind is just completely blown by this. Chocolate wool would seriously make knitting way more appealing to me. It’s not like I can knit, but I can eat chocolate.

If you want a wearable knitted version of this jumper is available to purchase on cadvent.co.uk for £15.00. I know you’d probably prefer the chocolate version, but in practical terms actual wool is way more sensible, plus it looks so cute, I would love one.

Steve Rich, Christmas Marketing Manager at Mondelez comments, “With everyone getting ready to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day, we’re excited to unveil a unique chocolate jumper as well as a wearable woolly version. Joining our new Cadbury Cadvent Knitwear Collection, the jumper is a special treat for all chocolate fans out there. Equipped with surprise pockets, the jumper is perfect for storing your favourite festive treats and we hope it will bring everyone joy on Christmas Jumper Day. ”

The launch of the knitwear comes after Cadbury revealed its wider 2016 Cadvent campaign. The Cadvent campaign this year showcases a series of children’s wishes for their loved ones as they come to life each day throughout the month of December. From streets filled with magical Christmas lights to the best ever Christmas cake, Cadbury is spreading the festive joy across the nation this Christmas targeting as many chocolate fans as possible. Films of each of the Cadvent wishes are being released daily, on www.cadvent.co.uk.

Did you wear your Christmas Jumpers today? Would you love a chocolate jumper? Please tell me I’m not the only one 🙂
