I love Christmas and I love crafts, I honestly come into my own this time of year when I get to combine the two, so when Hunkydory Crafts got in touch to see if I would like to review some items, well, it just had to be Christmas themed.
Hunkydory crafts sell so many amazing things for papercrafts. Stamps, dies, papers, embellishments and fabulous finishes. It was really hard to choose. I shall certainly be back looking for some new items early next year!
As I was thinking of making some Christmas cards with L it really helped to narrow down my search. He loves turning the handle on my die-cutting machine so I wanted to get some festive dies, some new sparkly cardstock called at me and then I found an utterly revolutionary tool for anyone who has a die-cutter.
The 3 in 1 die brush
has made my life so much easier I’m really sad I didn’t know about it earlier, it’s only £9.99 and has a stiff brush to help push out all those delicate little areas you’ve just cut in next to no time. It also has a pin that pops out of the bottom to help push your card out of the die and a flat spatula that also pops out, to help lift card that is stuck.
I am in love with it and would have used my die-cutting machine a lot more if I had owned this sooner. I would get frustrated with how quickly you could cut something vs how long it then took to free it and push all the excess card out. I genuinely see this as a must have purchase for all papercrafters.
For the cards I used some of the amazing Hunkydory crafts glitter card
, alongside my own cardstock. It adds a great depth to the cards and can be used to highlight small areas or totally bling up the whole creation. At £4.45 for 5 sheets it goes a long way. It’s worth noting that it can be hard to glue onto, but I found a double sided tape worked brilliantly.
For our dies I chose a Moonstone die set ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’
. It’s £14.99 and fabulous quality, the set also comes with a lot of dies that allow you to mix and match your ideal snowman, literally building it on the card. This made it a lot of fun to do with L as he loved choosing the different parts and helping me put everything together.
As well as all the parts to make a snowman you also get a string of lights and the ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ text, which is really nice.
It leaves you with a lot of possibilities. Of course we made snowmen cards but we also made a string of baubles using the plain circular die and the string of lights along the top which I thought looked lovely.
Card making doesn’t have to take long and it can be a lot of fun. We certainly enjoyed ourselves and were very impressed with all Hunkydory Crafts
had to offer.
Disclosure – I was gifted my items in return for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and images are y own.
