One of our favourite day trips is The City of Norwich Aviation Museum.
It is a particular favourite of L and his Daddy, to the point they got themselves an annual pass (£10 per adult or £20 for a family pass). On occasion, however, it is permitted for me to go with them!
Facilities
There is a nice size free car park.
Bathrooms inside, though I don’t recall seeing baby change.
There is a lovely little cafe where you can can drinks, snacks, ice creams and a homemade cake, mmmm.
There is a gift shop L is rather partial too as well. Lots of nice little things to purchase, you can definitely get a toy plane!
The Planes
There are so many planes to see. Most are outside but a few are under cover.
Husbs fave is the Vulcan, L likes the Royal Mail plane, he is a funny thing!
It’s a lovely stroll outside wandering between the planes and looking out to Norwich Airport where you can see the planes take off and land.
Some of the planes are just nose and cockpit sections and there are a couple of replica’s too.
What’s really special is that you can go in some of the planes, they aren’t all open and the ones that do aren’t open all the time. But when they are it is so worth it.
The Museum
The museum indoors has all kinds of things. Engines, model planes, uniforms and loads of local information. It is really interesting.
L loves to show me round, as he has been more often, he knows the way and likes to show me his favourite bits. Whilst this is adorable it also means I am unlikely to ever see the whole lot!
The exhibition space isn’t too large though so you can comfortably look round it all and it is certainly worth looking at.

Overall
This is one of our favourite days out for a reason.
It is great value for money. There is plenty to see, both inside and outdoors. Some of the planes are opened up for you to go inside which is really interesting.
You can grab a bite to eat and you can sit and watch the planes take off and land at Norwich Airport.
Plus the staff are so nice!
