Cleaning is not my favourite task, far from it, but it has to be done. This means that I’m always eager to try anything that will actually make my life easier and then I got this challenge from Bar Keepers Friend on Twitter:
@anywaytostay Find the greasiest, grottiest, most grimy, rusty and generally disgusting thing you have and Bar Keepers will do the trick!
— Bar Keepers FriendUK (@BKF_UK) 13 May 2016
Challenge accepted! I got sent a box full of cleaning supplies from Kilrock to get my house looking super clean and tidy.

Now I won’t bore you with the ins and out of all the products and me cleaning with them but I did want to show you three products and three tasks I put them up to in my house.
My kitchen sink draining board, it’s always limescaly and manky because it doesn’t actually drain, my oven door which is just an embarrassment and the bathroom tiles.

For the draining board by the kitchen sink I used the Bar Keepers Friend Power Spray, my reasoning for this was simple, one it said it would do the job and two I wanted to keep as close to my normal method of cleaning as possible – spray everything, wipe and hope for the best.

I have to admit I’m a little bit in love, not only did the power spray clean all of the surfaces in my kitchen just as you would expect but it bought the stainless steel draining board up in a lovely shine and with absolutely no effort on my part. Just a spray and a wipe. Winner.

As for the oven, well I’ll be honest with you, we were this close to calling in a professional. It is horrid, I will not lie, so I took the Bar Keepers Friend Power Cream Stain Remover to it.
I only had 15 minutes in which to clean the oven door, a time scale allotted to me by the toddler, trouble is I didn’t know this before I started. With nothing but a kitchen cloth, no scourers or scrubbing brushes here, some hot water and my stain remover I started.

It is so easy to use, no need to wait, no heavy chemical smells that have you running to open every window in the house regardless of the weather, just pop onto a cloth, rub in, rinse and repeat as needed. No bags, gels, no leaving overnight or longer and it isn’t specifically for ovens, it can be used for nearly anything so it means there are several less bottles needed in my cleaning cupboard now.
In my 15 minutes of cleaning, my oven door went from being completely covered and unable to see through to having only the very worst stains left on it and once again being a usable feature, no more having to open the oven door to see if things are cooked! I do actually believe that should my toddler have allowed me a longer cleaning slot, with a bit of elbow grease I would have got rid of all the dirt and grime. Amazing.

Now please someone tell I am not the only person who has a mould issue in their bathroom, it doesn’t matter how often or how much I clean the grout always ends up looking vile. It bothers me, it really does. To the extent the day before I took up my cleaning challenge I had made my husband reseal the bath, just to get rid of the worst of the mould.
I got sent two product to deal with the mould a Blastaway Spray and a Blastaway Gel Applicator, I decided to try out the spray first. I applied to half of the grout around the taps (do excuse the limescale, that’s another problem for another day) and too one wall of tiles.

All you have to do is spray, leave for 15 minutes, rinse and wipe. Sounds too easy right?
Well mine actually got left for 45 minutes as an impromptu craft session was required with the boy, he wanted to glitter and he wanted to glitter now! But when I went back the difference was outstanding. I’m actually a little bit excited to get in their properly and clean.
At this stage I want to make it clear, I have used all the products and love them, the Limescale Remover has given my kettle a new life and done wonderful things to my iron which I didn’t even realise needed help. The moisture trap is happily sitting in the bathroom collecting water, which I’m surprised about as we have a heavy duty dehumidifier sat in the hallway right by the bathroom. All of these products are wonderful and work incredibly well. They are all you need to keep the house and things like barbecues and garden furniture, they are super multifunctional, clean forever.

No your not the only one that suffers with mould in their bathroom, we get it too. Our bathroom has no window & only an extractor fan but with 4 of us having a shower every day it gets steamy & the grout gets black in places. It drives me insane.
I’ve tried lots of different products & they are ok but it still leaves a pale black mark on the grout.
I’d love to try Blast Away Mould because I’ve not tried this one 🙂
It’s horrible isn’t it, extractor fans just never do enough. We’ve got a window and a large dehumidifier on the go but still get mould! Good luck in the competition, the blastaway is just what you need. I’ve been using it this morning, so quick and easy and really effective. xx

The products look really good and useful, I am always looking to try new stuff. I wish there could be a good product to clean easily the aluminium doors/windows frames, I hate this cleaning.
They are great. I’m lucky I have plastic frames, quite easy to clean.
Wow no excuse to not do the cleaning with this bundle.
Will have to get the oven cleaner.
I gave my oven another go with the bar keepers friend yesterday, uninterrupted by the child, and it’s come up so nice
This stuff looks fab! My bathroom could definitely use some.
