So as anyone who reads my blog regularly will know, I am no fashion blogger. Certainly no beauty blogger. I don’t follow the trends and am invariably late to the game. That’s certainly the case with charcoal based toothpastes, like Curaprox Black is White.
In the run up to Christmas there is a lot of chocolate being eaten and a lot wine being drank, for me it also sees one of the few times of year a drink a serious amount of red wine. I’m fully aware of the teeth staining effects of this excess and thought it would be nice to start the season off right, with shiny white teeth.
Curaprox launched two new charcoal based toothpastes, Black is White, which I have been using, as well as White is Black. You also get a lovely Black Is White limited edition ultra-soft toothbrush, it’s really cute and has a handy travel cap. I’ll be honest I don’t use the brush everyday, I prefer my electric one, but it is my travel brush and feels gorgeous when you use it.
These toothpastes use activated Carbon to gently absorb and remove stain particles that discolour teeth, without wearing enamel away. The paste has a slightly sandy texture but isn’t rough, it’s hard to explain, I rather like it though.
It did shock the other half the first time he walked in the bathroom whilst I was using it and my mouth was black but I love it. I’m converted and my teeth and mouth feel great.
Here is the list of benefits.
- Long lasting fresh, clean feeling
- Effective stain removal
- Positive light retention
- Blue filter so teeth are optically whiter
- Protects against tooth decay
- No aggressive bleach or SLS
- Complimentary ultra soft toothbrush for effective cleaning
Dr Matthias Mütsch, developer of White is Black and Black Is White toothpaste says:
Curaprox is a Swiss oral health brand who is well recognised for developing oral health tools and subsequently we are extremely excited to introduce Black is White and White is Black to our portfolio. In comparison to regular toothpastes, these two new products have a lower Relative Dentin Abrasivity setting them apart from existing products in the market. This, along with the introduction of activated carbon into the formula will remove stains without abrading the enamel.
