I know compared to a lot of places the cold weather we have been having recently is nothing to chat about, but school runs in sub zero temperatures are not the norm in the UK. Add in the wind and rain, more poor skin has taken a beating. So I was eager to try Defensil Rescue Serum when they contacted me.
It just so happens that not long after I received the email asking if I would like to try this neat little product L started complaining that one of his cheeks was sore every morning when we left for school and when I looked he did have a little red patch of chapped skin. Just from where the cold had got to him. It was very sore, poor little kid, and the only moisturiser I had at home that was suitable for his skin didn’t make any difference.
Defensil is a natural dry skin rescue serum, developed in the Swiss Alps for people with dry skin living at high dry and sunny altitudes with very dry skin, has been clinically proven by Swiss scientists to help lock in moisture for winter skin prone to dryness and flaking. So surely it work for the slightly less extreme weather we have had in sunny Norfolk?
Defensil Rescue Serum combines two key natural ingredients a concentrated extract from Cardiospermum seed and cold pressed Echium Oil, which have been shown in combination in trials to stabilise and regenerate the skin barrier and act effectively against itching caused by dry, chapped or flaking skin and eczema.
As soon as it arrived I tried some of the serum on my face, which has just been dry and a bit itchy. It was lovely, easy to apply, not greasy at all and it felt lovely on my skin. Thicker than most serums it goes on like a moisturiser but goes as far as a serum. You need surprisingly little.
Happy that my sensitive skin hadn’t reacted when I picked L up from school I put a little on the very chapped patch of skin on his cheek. No fuss from him at all. I asked how it felt, he said better and we carried about our evening. I forgot about if I’m honest. The next morning I asked if he wanted more cream for his cheek, before we headed out. He did. When I went to apply it, all the redness had gone, all of it, The area was a little raised still, but Defensil had done the trick.
Defensil Rescue Serum should be used twice daily on very dry or chapped patches of skin during cold weather as an intense skin barrier protection treatment to help prevent further drying, flaking and irritation. I’ll be honest on L I have been using once a day, maximum, and only on mornings that are particularly cold or bothersome and we haven’t had any more issues with chapped skin. I’m very impressed.
Defensil Rescue Serum is free from parabens, MI, SLS and perfumes and is suitable for sensitive and dry skin.
