For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends to help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
This week has been far better than last week, I have started working on myself a bit more, making time to meditate and to exercise and I’m looking forward to a weekend away so that helps, even if the evil that is Easter advertising has turned my child into an egg demanding monster!
Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:
Trying nail wraps for the first time, one week in and no chips, just pretty colours and patterns. Strangely I feel way more confident when I have painted nails but I hate how scruffy they get, I think this may be my solution.
Taking the afternoon off to go to the cinema with husb. It’s important we get a bit of time just the two of us.
Getting my fancy new scales and health tracker from Terraillon, L loved playing with all the packing stuff and I feel like I’m making positive steps.
Fitting in a Pilates session and trying Zumba for the first time. My poor abs the next day, ouch 🙂
Taking L to Dinosuar Adventure Park with my sister, he may have refused to see the dinosaurs or actually do anything other than play on the slides but he still hasn’t stopped asking to go back or put his new toy dinosaur down.
Going for a nice walk with L and watching his excitement at finding the perfect stick.
Trying to film a vlog with L literally stealing the camera and getting as close to it as possible, a lot of fun and giggles, no usable footage though.
Going for a nice push bike ride with L, he kept pushing me to go faster and is actually a pretty hard task master. Faster mummy, mummy wheeeee!
After months of testing swim lessons actually having one L enjoyed so much he threw a wobbly when we left, oh how I loved dealing with a wet and slippery tantruming toddler, whilst everyone stares at me me in my swimsuit, but still, my point is he was enjoying himself so much he didn’t want to leave!!
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week, otherwise I’m not sure I’d make it through!!

I feel so much happier with my nails done too – that’s something I’ve only just realized as I never do my nails! The nail wraps is a fab idea. That’s great he loves the pool – mine are the same & hate to get out. It can be so hard to force them out when they are wet & slippery all right. I’ve just bought some more nail wraps, I was so impressed! I do hope he continues to enjoying swimming, it’s been such a battle to get him this far. Xx
