For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
Well I’m home. 7 loads of laundry done and back at work. Our holiday was amazing, we had the best time and for once in my life I actually relaxed!
Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:
Taking L on his first flight. He loved it so much.Getting to our room and finding it was huge and rather luxurious. That holiday feeling could really start.Sitting on the beach with a G&T whilst L happily played in the sand at our feet. It was just what I had pictured and it actually happened.Fabulous weather. Hot but not too hot. Dry. Just perfect. I felt add though the sun was warming my soul. Just what I needed.Walking in the shallow water at the beach collecting shells and watching the fish swim by us.He swam. Just a teeny tiny bit. But our was actual swimming. I’m hoping we can build on it when we go to Bluestone next month, their pool is fabulous.L wanting to spend the whole day at the water park. Lovely to see him having so much fun, especially as it came with a distinct benefit to me. I don’t do slides, l don’t enjoy them. So I just got to watch and read in the sun. Winner.Having a little photo shoot done on our last night. We had the money left and I’d been wanting a new family photo done. A perfect way to remember our adventure.Sleeping in my own bed and cuddling the cat. Missed him.Going out for a lovely walk through the fields with my boy. Coming home can be a come down but things like this are what I love.
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK, #BestandWorst & #CoolMumClub just because I love them.
