Feeling Calm

Feeling Calm #114

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

My laptop has died. I’ve tried everything but cannot revive it. It’s a nightmare. I’m muddling through on my phone but it’s not as easy. In other news this week I’ve started Weight Watchers to get in control of my ever increasing waistline and things are back to normal post holiday.

Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

My car had a nasty knocking sound. I was really worried taking it to the garage, I honestly thought it would need hundreds of pounds worth of work. But it was only just over £100 and they have had to order the part so I can eek it out to payday. Such a relief. Obviously now the laptop has gone tits up getting my budgets sorted is out the window but it could have been so much worse.

Getting to walk to work and back. I always used to have park a fair distance from work and walk in. Hadn’t realised how much I missed it. Another plus of the car being in the garage.

Getting a few hours extra in at work so I could take a day unpaid and save my holiday for September. I’m so lucky to work somewhere so flexible and understanding. So lucky.

Getting to have afternoon tea with L at nursery. Obviously it was for the wedding. It was a fun afternoon and the children had helped to make the food. It was lovely to be invited.

Having a mini royal wedding party at work. I surprised the guys with cakes and sparkling elderflower cordial. It was fun.

A really fun day in Thetford Forest, we built a den. Had a picnic. Met up with our friends and just had a lovely time.
Catching up with some friends of ours that we don’t get to see very often. It’s always so good to catch up. As the boys were happy playing we actually got to chat which is lovely.

Spending some time in the garden. It’s been so lovely the garden furniture is out and we’ve been working, eating and playing outside. Love it.

Went on a lovely walk through the fields with the boy. Turned round and the cat had joined us. So sweet.

I’ve bought a Chromebook I’m quite excited as I’ve wanted one for ages. Sure I’d have preferred to have done it in my own time and not lost all my accounts that were ready to be submitted and not backed up but hey ho. I’m getting a Chromebook, woop.

I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.

I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK, #BestandWorst & #CoolMumClub just because I love them.
