For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
I’ve got my routine back! I’ve had some time to myself. I’ve walked, I’ve cleaned and I’ve worked. It’s all back to normal. It’s actually been really lovely and I’m feeling more like I can cope again.
Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

1 – Starting my day with an hour long walk through the fields was the perfect way to start my day. I love walking, especially by myself, it’s like meditating for me. The quiet and the steady pace help clear my head and set me up for the day.

2 – Filming for a documentary that’s going to be on Channel 5. It was weird and awkward but fun at the same time.

3 – A really lovely walk to school with L in the morning, enjoying the time together and having a little chat.

4 – A relaxing evening at home just chilling out and watching some TV with husb. It feel likes ages since we’ve done anything so normal!

5 – L and I spending our Saturday morning doing absolutely nothing. We just chilled out on the sofa next to each other, barely even speaking, just both completely relaxing and watching TV. L needed the down time and so did I. We’ve been so busy recently it was nice to just do nothing.

6 – Husb came home with a set of children’s golf clubs for L. I genuinely don’t know who was more excited! It was lovely to watch though.

7 – Sunday we caught up with L’s old nursery gang at soft play. It was so sweet to see them all playing with each other as if no time had gone at all. Apart L hadn’t seen most of them since August so it was nice to see them just fall back into their old patterns. It was nice for me to catch up with all the mums and dads too.

8 – Strangely enough Sunday afternoon was spent at the golf club :-/ I may have been bored and cold but it was nice to see L actually paying attention and really concentrating on something. It was also lovely to see him having such a lovely time with his daddy.

9 – L had a friend over after school for a play, which meant I got to have a friend over as well. We had a lovely catch up and put the world to rights whilst our boys played. A lovely way to spend the day.

10 – I got my very last minute tax return completed! Whoop! Such a weight off my shoulders. I hadn’t meant to leave it so late, not at all, but after my laptop broke and took all my records with it, my records that weren’t backed up, I knew it would be a serious job and I needed time for it, time that wasn’t easily forthcoming! But it’s done now and I’m organised for next year’s return too.
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK just because I love them.

My children do a one moment a day that made them happy/smile or proud (which reminds me I need to do that) and I think I need to do that too. You have had some great moments the past week!
I think it’s lovely that the children do this. xx
