For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
Half Term was amazing. We had the best time, it was so chilled out and just lovely. Both L and I have been a bit sad now he’s back at school but we’ll soon get back in the groove of it all.
Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:
1 – We had a really fun day following a trail round Wymondham, based on their Go Go Hare. It’s all done on an app, Wym Trails, and has some fun AR elements. It was a nice walk, just the right length and afterwards we did a little bit of shopping.
2 – We headed to one of our fave places to eat, The Station Bistro, we hadn’t been since L started school. It was great to be back and doing something that we used to all the time. L loves to watch the trains go by and the food is always amazing. It is a real gem of a place.
3 – Movie afternoon! We headed to my friend’s house to eat maltesers and popcorn and watch Cars 3. L adores her and was so happy he got to hang out with the grown ups and the grown ups were so happy to be chilling with a Disney movie and snacks. Win win!
4 – L and I had a lovely walk through the fields and made the most of the sunny weather. It was so warm and the snowdrops were in full bloom. Blossom starting to show on the trees. The weather has really just been wonderful. Walking in February with no coats! Awesome.
5 – We had a great day with friends at the playground. The kids ran around and played for hours, literally hours. The sun was shining, the kids were happy, I got to have a lovely chat with my friend. Who could want more. They swung, adventured through the woods, made a ‘fire’ and played football.
6 – We popped to the bus cafe for a second time in the week! One of my friends works there and I got to have a quick chat with her. The boys had a great time and us mum’s bought cake to take home. Cakeaway!!! It was so good.
7 – Daddy finished work early and bought us home fish and chips!!! L rarely ever gets to eat dinner with his daddy so that was a real treat for him. No cooking or washing up was a real treat for me.
8 – We went for a lovely walk all three of us and found our first ever geocache. L was really excited and I think it’s something we are going to do a bit more of, he enjoyed it so much we popped out again the next day to find another. We love walking and he loves finding treasure so it’s a no brainer really.
9 -L and I had a lovely morning and popped into Diss to spend some of his pocket money, hurrah for Poundland, we stopped at Costa for a cake and a drink then played at the park for ages.
10 – After a couple of tearful school drops offs. L not me, I understand I do need to clarify that, I have been a smidge emotional. It was lovely to come home and decorate a new bug and bumble house together. Sat in the garden in the sun. I’m not sure the wildlife will like the colours but I think it is a very happy little home now. We’ve planted the sunflower seeds it came with as well, I have my fingers crossed for them!
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK just because I love them.
