Feeling Calm

Feeling Calm #152

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

It’s been a nice quiet, calm week. Just what I needed. I grabbed some extra hours at work and just chilled and relaxed with the kid. It’s been lovely.

Here are my top ten moments from the last 14 days:

Feeling Calm
Does it get anymore relaxed?

1 –  Husb had worked away Tuesday night, so Wednesday morning I awoke to a small child in my bed. The morning couldn’t have been more chilled out. Watched a bit of TV, had breakfast, went to school. Easy peasy.

Look at them heading off together, so cute

2 – Husb took L to school Friday morning, it was nice for me to get a few minutes to myself to get a couple of jobs done before work and make an important phone call. It was nicer for them to get some time together.

Feeling Calm
I wasn’t expecting my own unicorn biscuit

3 – One of my customers treated me to a hot chocolate when I was at work. I’ve been helping him for a while now and he has grown wise to asking me if I want anything and has now just taken to buying me a drink and giving it to me so I can’t say no!! It is 100% not needed but I do really appreciate it and it left me smiling all day.

Feeling Calm
Chilled weekend vibes

4 – When I got home from work on Saturday I found that the kid had picked me out a special biscuit from the bakery. A unicorn just for me. A lovely treat to come home to.

Feeling Calm
Thank you Zuru!

5 – I took L to my parents over the weekend and he enjoyed catching up with them and we had a lot of fun singing to his own specially made playlist of tunes on the car journey there.

Feeling Calm
The perfect way to start myday

6 – L and I snuck in a cheeky trip to McDonald’s whilst husb was playing golf. We loved it. He was less impressed. But it was a fun little treat.

Feeling Calm
Bluebells already

7 – After begging us most afternoons last week for a play date, we managed to sort a date and one of L’s friends popped over after school. The set up a post office in his room, were policemen hunting down the Grinch and Fireman Sam got involved somehow, all before a massive dance party. It was a pleasure to watch!

Feeling Calm
A little family of deer

8 – L got sent a fun Party Bag from Zuru, we had a blast unwrapping everything and playing with his new goodies.

Feeling Calm
Brunch time!

9 – I had the longest, sunniest and most calming walk. I saw deer, snowdrops, bluebells and daffodils. It was the perfect start to my day.

Feeling Calm
Celebrating pancake day

10 – Popping out to brunch with two of my bestest friends. We had some lovely food and a really good catch up and brunch soon ran into lunch and we realised we should probably head off. It was brill.

I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.

I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK  just because I love them.
