For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
Today has not been a good day, but today also isn’t part of the last 7 days, which were, on the whole pretty good. I need to concentrate on some self care a bit more, but otherwise it’s been a lovely week.
Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

1 – The child asked for a jacket potato with cheese and a salad for his tea. Asked for it! We had no salad in the house but I dashed out the shops to buy some. It was such a parenting win. He asked for salad!

2 – I popped my little giraffe to school all ready for World Book Day. It wasn’t the best drop off, I think the costumes had thrown most the kids, they were all crying! But picking him all happy from joining in with the excitement was lovely.

3 – Treating the kid to a Slush Puppie, he’d been very well behaved and it was a nice little treat for him. He couldn’t believe he could have one at home and it made him so happy.

4 – Finding a small child in my lazy day top, he looked so ridiculous! It made us both laugh though. Strangely he loves sitting on my lap whilst I wear that and getting me to throw the pom poms at his head.

5 – Making a superb train track, I was quite proud of myself! We had a lovely morning just chilling out and playing before I headed off to work. Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day.

6 – I had such a busy day at work on Saturday the time just whizzed by, which in itself was lovely, but turning round to find my boys had visited post golf to spend my lunch break with me was a real treat. I love it when they do that.

7 – We popped to our local garden centre on Sunday and it just so happens to have trains. This makes for a very happy day out!

8 – Playing at the park and timing it just right so we missed the rain! What a result!

9 – Despite all the highs I’ve mentioned I had been dealing with some rather severe anxiety so I bought myself some flowers. Just to cheer me up. No other reason. it was 80p very well spent and I should do it more often.

10 – Arranging to see a friend I hadn’t seen in ages! I cannot wait to have a catch up and a giggle.
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK just because I love them.
