For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
So I took an impromptu week off blogging last week. The building work had started and I had a million plans, so I chose to step back and decide to prioritise myself a bit. That being said I’ve now got LOADS to catch up on.!!
Here are my top ten moments from the last two weeks:

1 – L had a Karate lesson at school and came home so excited. It was hilarious, a smidge concerning and generally fabulous sight to see. It’s rare I actually here much about what has happened during the day at school, let alone get a demonstration.

2- An impromptu trip to the playground after school with a bunch of mums and kids turned into a fabulous afternoon with a couple of drinks and a mini picnic. It was a genuinely great way to end the week.

3 – The school fair was a delightful day. L had a blast playing with his friends and we all managed to win a few bits from the various games. Plus the school made a lot of money which is always good.

4 – Catching up with friends for a chinese after work on Saturday night was ace. Getting to walk home and see the sunset was lovely as well. Really relaxing.

5- One of L’s friends had an ace glow in the dark birthday party and we had a right giggle! L loves all the parties he goes to but it’s not often I get stuck in, soft play isn’t my jam, glow in the dark sand however, well that’s something I can get onboard with.

6 – Toy Story 4. Pic n mix, popcorn, my best boys and a cinema trip. What’s not to love. I was less than impressed with the ending, but loved the film overall.

7 – Building work starting and not being as dreadfully intrusive, messy or disruptive as I had feared. Plus, the fact it simply started was a huge weight off my mind!

8 – The girls coming over for gin and chat. We had a really good reading and one of my friends bought her Tarot cards so we did a reading as well. It was just a brilliant night. Just what I needed. What we all needed I think.

9 – Husb is between projects right now so he’s been working from home a bit, it’s meant we’ve actually seen hm and he’s been able to do some school runs, it’s also meant I’ve had some company on my walks which is nice. Recently we’ve just been like ships that pass at night, so having him about has been good.

10 – Both working from home on our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We had a nice walk and then were able to have a relaxing and calm evening with some fancy food, wine and a film.
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK just because I love them.
