For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
School’s out!! We’ve been busy having fun and I’ve had a few personal bits going on that I can’t wait to see the back of, so I’m glad I’ve had the fun (and gin) to distract myself.
Here are my top ten moments from the last week:

1 – We had a fab last day of school. L’s buddy had got him a git and a card, which was literally the most exciting thing ever for him. Then loads of us headed off to the playground and onto the pub for dinner. It was so lovely to celebrate the end of our first year.

2- First day of the hols and we headed out to have lunch with a friend. It was nice to have a slow day and even nicer to meet up in an air conditioned Costa!!

3 – We had an epic thunderstorm and I got totally distracted watching it and trying to get a picture. I do love a good storm.

4 – We got to catch up with some friends of ours over dinner. L enjoyed a sleepover with his bestie and we enjoyed a few drinks, pizza and a delish G&T dessert with good friends.

5 – So whilst I was at work on Saturday the boys went and bought a car! I’m relieved we found one and I know L was absolutely delighted to get to help. Plus I’m loving the parking sensors, I actually stand a chance!

6 – We headed back to our Languard Fort to catch up with some friends. The boys loved exploring the fort and then we went to the beach for a walk. Before we knew it both kids were stripped off and jumping in the waves. It was great fun.

7 – L and I headed into Norwich for a day at Norwich Castle. We were invited for an influencer event and had an absolute blast. We both love the castle anyway but got to explore some of the new viking exhibits and enjoy some great activities.

8 – L made his own viking helmet and really immersed himself in the experience and the history. I’ve had to find some viking themed story books and brush up on my own knowledge. It was great to see him get so involved though.

9 – We were treated to a story with Freyja in a viking tent and L was totally enthralled with it. He loved hearing about the gods and the exciting story. I just liked watching his little face.

10 – Tuesday was L’s first day at Barracudas and he was so excited to go back to camp. He had a blast at Easter and has been loving it this time around too.
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK just because I love them.
