For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
I’ve had a great week. Me and the child have had so much fun. The building work is coming along. I’ve caught up with friends and generally just had a blast.
Here are my top ten moments from the last week:

1 – We had a well deserved home day on Wednesday. We kicked it off in style by baking chocolate cakes for breakfast. L then took them through to the builders, he was so proud of himself and they were suitably impressed.

2- We had fun making and playing with some slime. It’s always a guaranteed boredom killer, though I’m starting to run out of space for all the slimes L has made!

3 – We headed out into the fields for a walk. It’s my fave thing to do but we hadn;t been once the whole summer so when L asked if we could go I leapt at the chance. We were even kept company by a cat who is not ours!

4 – Thursday saw us hop on a train to Lowestoft. We had a fab day playing on the beach and looking round. L just loves a train ride so he was happy, add in a beach and it was a perfect day for him.

5 – The water fountains in Lowestoft were a massive hit. Thankfully we had a change of clothes for the kid as he didn’t come out until he was soaked through. He loved it though.

6- Friday we caught up with my parents for some lunch, L got the mask in his kids box, then we picked out some new flooring. I can’t believe we’re at that stage already!

7 – We spent a lot of Saturday with the cat who isn’t ours. There was a lot of rain Friday night and the new part of the house was most definitely not watertight so all the windows were open to dry it out a bit. This meant the cat just kept coming in a plinking on whoever would have her!

8 – L went to a birthday party on Sunday. It was amazing. There was a treasure hunt around the playing field to find a selection of different prizes. Then a hunt to find the letters of the birthday boys fave animal followed by a prize. Topped off with a hunt for each kid to find their own personalised painted stone. I mean we may as well all give up now!!

9 – After the birthday party we popped to the local pub with a friend and her son. The boys just played and played whilst we sat in a beer garden, enjoying adult conversation with a nice meal and a drink. It was bloody delightful.

10 – L and I popped to Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens on Tuesday. We had a great time riding on all the trains and exploring the stunning gardens. It wasn’t planned but the electricians were in a L had declared he would die without TV and after playing in the garden for a while he came in to tell me he was now actually dead because of the lack of TV. So I thought getting out of the house may be beneficial to us all!
I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.
I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK just because I love them.

Yes a journal can be worthwhile keeping. Gratitude journal can be beneficial. Though my fiancé needs encouragement to write in his regularly :- I think his busy lifestyle tires him out. Yet he really doe need some positivity in his life. Tiredness can lead to grumpiness, though once he sleeps :- He sleeps it off, and is a different person ( or so it would seem).
Sometimes I think a journal can help us to prioritise.
I am wondering if your house / home and family have acquired a cat. A family friend had this happen some years ago. They did manage to find out the cat’s owner /s. The cat persisted, and insisted :- It preferred my friends home, and gave them many years of pleasure :- As he was a friendly cat, who enjoyed spending time in their garden, etc. Turns out perhaps his original home was just too busy for him, they had several pets. Whereas this cat seemed to enjoy being the only pet in the house / garden.
