Feeling Calm #8

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends to help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

This week has been fairly boring, thankfully! There have been some lovely moments, some toddler tantrum not so lovely moments and some fairly mundane moments. It’s actually been quite normal and peaceful which is always nice.

So here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Digging for worms, as you do

  1. The continuation of L’s affectionate streak, I’ve had lots of cuddles and kisses and now every time I get a hug he says ‘Mummy aaahh’ I’m relishing being his favourite person at the moment, doesn’t give his daddy such good hugs, mwa haha.
  2. More great nursery drop off’s, I think I may have nailed it, I literally have to pop him through the gate and run before he realises what’s going on. I hate not getting a kiss and cuddle goodbye but if he’s not screaming and crying it’s got to be better for him.

  3. Little sis asking me to be her bridesmaid.
  4. Getting a facial.
  5. Delicious afternoon tea, miniature food is so much better than big food.

  6. Home made Yorky Puds and Mash, enough said!
  7. Watching Husb and Boy watch the Man Utd vs Arsenal match at the weekend, I had placed a cheeky bet and husb got so nervous/excited by the whole affair it was hilarious and every time he shouted at the TV L told him off! Daaadddy NO!!!!! I’ve never enjoyed a football match so much, mainly because I hate it.
  8. Receiving an amazing bracelet from El Camino, it’s like a travel charm bracelet. It’s right up my street and it really made my day unwrapping it.

  9. Getting to try Hello Fresh for the first time. Does anyone else use them? Amazing, only tried one recipe so far, Thai Sweet Potato Curry, but it was so yummy!
  10. An excellent swimming lesson that actually contained giggles and smiles, not mummy drowning and screams. He even floated on his back for about 0.5 seconds, a new personal best.

It’s may have felt like a mundane week but actually looking back it has had some pretty great moments. That’s why I do this. To help focus on the positives and make me happier and calmer.
