Feeling Calm

Feeling Calm #92

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Well the car is fixed and I have started to slow down on the blog front ready for Christmas, so you won’t see a smuch of me for the rest of the month, well that’s the plan! I have managed to injure myself slipping over though, no ice, snow or drink involved, just pure clumsiness!

Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Feeling Calm
Christmas Cocktails
  1. Having such a productive Thursday night I didn’t have to worry about all the nights I had planned for the weekend, so nice to be able to just go out and relax.

    Feeling Calm
Night out with the guys from work
  2. Getting a nice chilled out day with my boy. With no car we were kind of stranded at home but the weather wasn’t great so we made the most of it watching festive films and playing games and being silly.

    Feeling Calm
Dirty knees and rosy cheeks, it’s the only way to be
  3. My lovely, lovely neighbour taking me into work as I without my car. It meant so much to me as otherwise I would have lost those hours unpaid and just before Christmas that would have been a nightmare. I could have got a taxi but that would have cost me about 2 hours pay from my  5 hour shift, so hardly worth it. It makes you feel warm inside when you know you have a circle of people, however unexpected, you can rely on.

    Feeling Calm
    Park fun
  4. Work night out! I have a lovely little team of people I work with and we went out for a few cocktails and had fun. One of them kindly sorted out my lift there and back so I could have a drink, which is so rare for me. We had a blast and I even got asked for ID, that hadn’t happened in about 10 years!! (OK they were just asking the rest of the group, I work with youngsters, but I’m taking it as a win.)

    Feeling Calm
    Look at them having fun
  5. Getting my car back! Woop. Oh I missed that freedom of having a car.

    Feeling Calm
Throwing a snowball at his Dad whilst I wrap gifts
  6. Taking the boy to the park and playing in the leaves with him. Simple but lovely. Freezing cold though so didn’t last long before retreating home for hot chocolates.

    Feeling Calm
So cute, working on the till like his mumma
  7. Wrapping Christmas presents whilst the boys played outside in the sprinkling of snow we had. I love wrapping presents.

    Feeling Calm
Just being a Policeman at Tots Town
  8. Taking the boy to Tots Town to play with one of his friends. He had a blast playing and enjoying the role play and dress up. I had a nice time talking and catching up with his friend’s mum.

    Feeling Calm
    My fab little party gift
  9. Going out for a Bloggers Christmas Party with one of the PR companies and brands (Plain Speaking PR and intu Chapelfield) I have been working with a lot this year. It was fun. It was local. It was a night out. Loved it. So nice to get to meet people face to face and catch up with and meet some other local bloggers.

    Feeling Calm
I’ve hurt my gin drinking hand!
  10. Taking L to see one of his friends and having a good old chat with his mum whilst they played. For all my worries about making ‘mummy’ friends I seem to be doing it and rather enjoying it too.

I’m really glad I write down a few positives from each day and then go back through them each week. It helps keep me focused, calm and therefore happy. It is also a great way to keep a note of the things we’ve done.

I’m linking up with #BloggerClubUK, #BestandWorst & #CoolMumClub just because I love them.
