Now Halloween is one of my favourite holidays of the year, it’s fun, involves sweets and pumpkin spice and is one of the most Autumnal things going when you think about pumpkin patches. I feel that often all the focus is on the children, but what about the grownups like me who love to celebrate? Don’t forget me!
There’s no about it, Halloween is going to be weird this year, but I found some fabulous spooky activities on Buy A Gift that are a great way for the adults to celebrate this wonderful time of year, and you’ve got up tp 10 months to redeem just in case it’s not so fabulous in your area at the moment.
Harry Potter might not immediately spring to mind when it comes to Halloween, but for me it’s the perfect read with a hot chocolate on a cosy Autumn evening, filled with wizardry and magic and a certain level of peril that makes it just right for Halloween.
For the die hard fans it’s perfect all year round!
So why not head to London for a bus tour around some of the films locations? It’s three hours of Harry fun with plenty of photo opportunities and time to learn about the films. There’s time for souvenir shopping as well.
This is something i’ve always wanted to do, but never gotten around to.
Secret tunnels, Jack the Ripper, hidden execution sites. Some of the bloodiest parts of London’s history that are also truly fascinating will make up your walking tour of London. You’ll need to allow two hours for this amazing experience and not be faint of heart.
What better way to spend Halloween than learning about some of the real life horrors that happened in our capital city.
So I’ll be honest I have zero interest in doing this one, zombies scare the living daylights out of me and I wouldn’t enjoy it. That being said I couldn’t leave it out of a Halloween round up!
Head to a themed Cold War Bunker in London and get kitted out with the weaponry and skills you would need to survive a zombie apocalypse. There are zombies, held captive in the bunker to aid your training, but what will happen when the lights go out?
Let battle commence.
You need to be relatively fit and not of a nervous nature to part in this one, but it sounds like one hell of an experience if you are brave enough.
My final pick takes us towards Manchester for a classic escape room experience.
Escape rooms have become so popular but this one is perfect for Halloween with it’s death row theme. You’ve got one hour to solve the clues and escape before you are sentenced to death by electric chair.
It’s great value for money and for four people so you can have fun as a group. This is another thing on my wish list as I haven’t tried an escape room yet and I love a puzzle.
Things to know
So there we have it, some pretty horrifyig treats for the grown ups this Halloween.
Now I know you may think it’s odd for me to be sending you off all over the country for some fun activities at the moment. A time when whole areas are facing local lockdowns and mingling with more than 6 people is illegal. But I think it’s important to have something to look forward to and we all most certainly deserve a treat right now!
The Buy a Gift vouchers last for 10 months, so whilst these events make great Halloween gifts they don’t have to be redeemed right away. You can wait until any restrictions are lifted and you can wait until you are comfortable to go.
If things are still like this in 10 months time, let’s all hope they aren’t but we are in this for the long haul, then Buy a Gift have been offering free voucher extensions throughout the chaos and the are going to remain doing so for the foreseeable future.
Oh and completely non covid related, if you are getting one of these a s a gift for someone else and it turns out they really hate zombies or being locked in rooms, then almost all the vouchers can be swapped for one they would prefer. This is something I’ve always loved about Buy a Gift.
