This month, Hobbycraft the UK’s largest craft retailer has launched a national competition to create a Mini Makers Panel. The panel will be sent products to test and review before they hit the shelves and will be encouraged to share their feedback with Hobbycraft.
The feedback of the panel and their makes will be showcased on the Hobbycraft blog and social media channels.
To enter, parents just need to send in a photo of their child’s make and let Hobbycraft know what it is and why they decided to make it for the chance to win one of five £100 Hobbycraft gift cards as well as a place on our new Mini Makers Panel.
Hobbycraft is also on hand to help with keeping the kids busy and entertained over the holidays. From NOW in Scotland and 26th July in the UK, Hobbycraft stores will host craft clubs every Wednesday from 12pm – 2pm.
The Summer Craft Club will be free for anyone who wants to get involved with makes including make your own animal jar, Fimo fridge magnets and origami.
For those looking to get creative, come rain or shine, whether at home or on the beach, Hobbycraft also has a great range of products at great prices, that are bound to keep the little ones happy.
Everyone remembers the days of building a den in the garden, but this summer save the bed sheets and invest in the Hobbycraft Kids Teepee Play Tent (£35). After selling out earlier this year due to its popularity, the teepee is back by popular demand. The teepee comes in blank white, so once it’s set up it can be drawn on, painted and personalised – perfect to let children’s imaginations run wild.
The Colour in Cardboard Shop Playhouse (£15) and Colour in Cardboard Rocket Playhouse (£15) both provide hours of fun – firstly, children can bring them to life by decorating with paints, pens and glitter galore and then have their very own shop to play in, or go to space in their own bespoke rocket. We love the rocket! L would decorate it in scribbles and probably give it a run for it’s money it a way only a three year old can, but £15 is a great price.
With a selection of vibrant colours, kids can enjoy playtime outside with the Chunky Pavement Chalk (£2.50) complete with 12 coloured chalks and a handy box to keep them in. They’re great for letting kids get creative, draw a hop scotch or pretty picture which can be easily wiped away with water once they are finished.
The new Outdoor Inflatable Limbo Game (£10) has summer written all over it – play together as a family on a sunny day, barbeque or party. It’s easy to inflate and by simply adding water to the base it won’t move.
Great for helping young children connect with nature is the Creativity for Kids Grow a Little Love Chia Seed Kit (£7). The seeds will sprout from a heart-shaped planter in just three to four days. Little ones can add their own touch with the decorative foil accents included and watch them grow.
Featuring a magnetic board, white board and chalk board is the Kids 3-in-1 Activity Easel (£25) – sure to encourage children to explore their creative side. Once assembled, they have the choice of four paint pots, chalks and a board rubber to get started – a good value and quality easel to bring out kids inner artist.
And if that wasn’t enough, this summer, Libby Rose, Hobbycraft’s sewing ambassador is back, touring the country as she continues her mission to get the nation sewing. Libby tours Hobbycraft stores to help young people and adults from beginners to intermediates learn to sew or brush up on skills in 90 minute sessions for £10 per participant – as well as a £5 Hobbycraft voucher to spend at the end of the session. Having sewn with Libby myself I can say that it is a real treat and well worth doing, she is so lovely!
