It’s feels like a never ending task. With at least one load a day I’ll take whatever I can to make the job more pleasurable, so I joined BritMums #EcoverLaundry Challenge.
As part of the #EcoverLaundry Challenge I was sent a full-size bottle of Ecover Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent and exclusive laundry bag designed by the on-pack botanical illustrator Freya Morgan.
The new Non-Bio Detergent is perfect for anything from baby clothes to towels and bedding. But would it really stand up to a toddler I’m having difficulties toilet training, a husband who cycles and plays football and creates mounds of stinky laundry and me, the messiest of the lot, I can’t remember the last meal I ate that I didn’t throw over my top.
Despite the fact I know my laundry detergent is facing a hard job I don’t want to have to mess around with a hundred different products. I just want to through the detergent in and a scoop of stain remover, set to my 30 degree mixed wash, shut the door and forget about everything. I can’t be doing with sorting different loads and I most certainly don’t want to be folding dry laundry and finding stains or needing to re-wash things.
Ecover’s new Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent features a new scent, Lavender & Sandalwood. It’s dermatologically tested, plant-based and Non-Bio formula delivers spotlessly clean results, even on a cold wash.
I loved the scent in the bottle, but it doesn’t really last the wash and was barely discernible after the clothes had gone through the dryer which was a shame. To be fair that’s the only bad thing I can say about it. The clothes come out clean and fresh and I haven’t noticed any stains or marks left on the clothes. So I’m happy with that.
I’m sure it is great for your skin too, but as none of have had issues with any detergent we’ve used I don’t feel I can really comment on that.
If I’m honest I’m not sure I’d rush to buy it again, I really love a scent that lasts. Climbing into a freshly made bed with crisp sheets and that clean smell is one of my favourite things and as a busy mum I’m not prepared to give up that little luxury!
That being said I do like that I’m doing something good for the environment and that L can really get stuck in with the laundry and even put the detergent in without me really worrying.
It’s been a fun challenge and has made me think a bit more about what I do when it comes to the laundry.
