Wonderful Wooden Toys from Goula

With cousins and younger friends visiting it’s nice to have some toys in the house that everyone can play with. Something not too young for L, but fun and safe enough for our younger guests too.

GOULA Robot Mix

The new range of GOULA wooden toys from Jumbo Games fit the bill perfectly. Aimed at preschoolers they are still of interest to L and allow him to ‘teach’ his friends how to play and everyone is happy and occupied.

Our New Front Garden

An unexpected part of our extension has been the opportunity to completely redesign our front garden.

During the build we lost the top half of our driveway to house. We lost the whole lawn to rubble and dirt that wouldn’t fit in the skip.

During the actual works it was one of the few things that got me down, the very visible and constant mess at the front of our house. The first thing everyone saw and the hardship it caused actually accessing our home.

The Perfect Toy For Surviving Building Work

All summer long we had builders in working on our extension. Mostly the weather was great so we were just chilling out in the garden, or we had days out planned. When we were tired we still had an internet connection so we could watch Netflix in the conservatory. It genuinely wasn’t too bad.

My Little World

However, some days we were home, the weather was rubbish and on many of those days we had no internet as, on occasion, it had to be unplugged so things could be built. Those days were long. So freaking long.

Schleich Farm World Large Horse Stable – Review

We love Schleich toys in our house, they are always a big hit with the kid and so detailed. We’ve already got a few bits including the Schleich Wild Life 4 x 4 Vehicle and an amazing Dino Set with Cave so we were both really excited when we were asked to review the Farm World Large Horse Stable.

Adding a little joy to the garden

The weather has changed, it’s positively Autumnal now. The nights are drawing in. We’re still living in our teeny, tiny conservatory due to the building works and our garden is more important to us than ever for a little space, but even that has areas filled with rubble. So I got me a solar powered sheep from Red Candy, just to add a little joy to the day and beauty in the evenings.

Stopping Homework Battles with Poio

I don’t know about you but as soon as the word homework is mentioned my kid just switches off. t can be hard to get them on board with completing more work when they have got home from a day of doing work at school. Understandably so and quite honestly I’m not sure how I feel about what is expected of my Year 1 child to complete after school, so we are finding fun ways to get round it. Poio is one of those fun things.
