Our Day at Knightshayes

As we did so many amazing trips when we were in Devon thanks to Devon’s Top Attractions, I wanted to share them all with you, so over the next few days expect plenty of posts about the places we went, what we loved, what we didn’t and most importantly what toddler L thought of them, so in this article I’ll tell you about our first day trip, a lovely National Trust property, Knightshayes.

We went to Knightshayes on our first day in Devon, we had split up our journey from Norfolk to Devon by staying in Winchester the night before and handily Knightshayes was practically on the way to our accommodation at Sandaway Beach Holiday Park. Continue reading Our Day at Knightshayes

Locally Sourced Meals

Today is the first day of The East of England Co-op‘s sourced locally fortnight. I have always loved how the EoE Co-op has supported our local producers and this fortnight celebration highlighting what you can buy from local producers is an amazing way to discover new foods, last year I found Hadleigh Maid and I’m now addicted to their Hot Chocolate.

Sandaway Beach Holiday Park North Devon

Last week were lucky enough to have a family holiday in Devon, we were based at Sandaway Beach Holiday Park in Combe Martin, North Devon thanks to the lovely people at John Fowler Holidays.

Devon is about 6 hours in the car from us, so with such a long way t travel there are a few things that we really need to have on arrival. A straight forward check in, something fun to do with L, food and a comfy bed. We were me with all these things. It was lovely.

Project Bridesmaid #9

So in about a year I am going to be a bridesmaid for my little sister. This is just the kind of goal I need to diet, start losing some weight and getting healthier, which all ties in nicely with my quest to be a calmer, happier and healthier person.

I have decided to vlog about my journey as that will give me a visual reminder of where I’ve been and where I am and as it’s something that makes me rather uncomfortable it will also help to keep me in check. Plus it’s always good to push yourself.

During my journey I will be getting to try all kinds of new products and sharing my experiences of them with you. Continue reading Project Bridesmaid #9

Feeling Calm #19

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends to help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

We were in Devon all of last week, so I didn’t write my top ten last Wednesday. I’ve been toying with a catch up top 20 this week, just missing a week or doing a top ten from the last 14 days and that is what I have opted for.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, going away takes up so much time, getting work done before hand, being shattered afterwards. Dealing with everything whilst you are away but without the home comforts. It can be draining but ultimately, we had fun and it was worth it, although there were times during the holiday I may not have said that!

Here are my top 10 moments from the past 14 days;

This plus that equals…. why I blog happy

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This is a post I’ve been thinking about for a while, why I blog happy, there have been a lot of things recently complaining about some mummy blogs being overly positive and therefore fake, one post in particular recently that went viral said we all sucked, nice. This isn’t slamming the blogs that write about the downsides to parenting, they are some of my favourites, they are hilarious, but I choose to be happy, be positive and here’s why.
