This Plus That Equals... TV Shows I Love

This Plus That Equals…. #12

This plus that equals…. TV shows I love

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week I thought I’d share my favourite TV shows, I love them all but for very different reasons, you might be surprised!

Suits – I love this show and am currently in withdrawal, I’m not going to go into what it’s about, but you should watch it, it is awesome. It’s funny, it’s clever, it’s super stylish and one of the fastest 40 or so minutes ever. If you do watch please tell me I am not alone in finding Mike’s new hairstyle weird. Oh and I love Lewis, he’s so sweet on such a dorky way. Love him.

Teen Mom. I love me some trashy TV. Something I can yell at the TV about, chat with my sister about and generally just watch with ease and not have to concentrate. Plus it’s always great watching someone else’s train wreck of a life, makes you feel good about what’s going on in your own house.

Grey’s Anatomy. Now have only just discovered this, I know I’m a bit late to the game, and having worked my way through 11 seasons of box sets in the space of about 6 months have found myself waiting for season 12 to stop airing or to be on catch up from the beginning. The wait is killing me. I need to know what happens and don;t anyone dare tell me. As far as TV goes this ticks all my boxes, I love a medical drama, there are some very attractive male characters to keep my attention, there are tears, laughs and lots of drama.

Modern Family. This is one TV show always guaranteed to make me laugh out loud. I love its honesty and how I could see myself in many of the odd situations, albeit a slightly toned down version, There are so many great characters I’ve found myself really attached to them and I can safely watch it with the little one about, a major plus.

Catfish. Back to my love of trashy TV, although I like to think this is slightly less trashy than other things I watch. I love Max and Nev they make such a great team and I find the stories fascinating, how can people get sucked in, surely it’s obvious that if you’ve met someone online who won’t meet up in the flesh or even video chat they are lying! If anyone else watches it and has seen this week’s episode with the medium, what do you think, real or not real? She seemed convincing but I’m still on the fence.

These are just a few of my favourite shows, I thoroughly recommend them. What are your favourite TV shows?

  1. Our pick at the moment is iZombie, a comic based show about brain eating zombies but with a police procedural twist. We had been watching Gotham but its wildly varying quality and unintentionally awful writing has practically killed it for us.

“Bruce, wait, I know how you feel…”
    “No you don’t”
    “You’re right. I don’t”

    1. Ha I’m ridiculously scared of zombies, even ones that are cute so I could never watch that. I gave up on Gotham very fast, the writing was almost funny in how bad it was but I just couldn’t do it! X

  2. I love Teen Mom and Modern Family. Modern Family makes me cry with laughter at literally every episode – how on earth the script writers come up with that stuff I will never know but it is pure comic genius. Not heard of the others but I’m off to check them out based on your other good taste 😉 Thanks for sharing on #fortheloveofBLOG x

  3. I LOVE Catfish! I was totally skeptical about this week’s episode but then, somehow, she kinda had me almost convinced I believe her. There’s still just an element of doubt that I can’t let go of, but the things she knew were so weird! Grey’s is one of the box sets I was determined to get through on maternity leave, but I haven’t quite made it. I really enjoy it though!

  4. I do love some trashy tv. I record some of the reality programmes (TOWIE etc) then binge watch them during the day while hubby is at work and the kids are at school!

  5. I don’t watch too much TV so not surprised that I haven’t seen any of these. I’ve heard such good things about modern family, though #fortheloveofblog

  6. I haven’t seen any of these expect for Modern Family and it has helpfully reminded me that my husband wants the series box set if it exists for his birthday…must get on to that! Hmm I like a huge range of stuff…I can get very into some of the series to start with but then find (particularly the American ones) that by episode 158 I’m a bit bored!! The OJ Simpson one recently is a case in point – I lasted until episode 3, when the road chase was essentially done in real time I got a bit bored. Would have made a great film though! And how many episodes did there end up being in 24!? More than 24 I’m sure! Haha, telly, wine and sleeping children is fab combo though! #fortheloveofBLOG

    1. Oh yes there are some shows out there that should have ended after two series but are somehow in there tenth! I sometimes find myself watching them because I’ve invested a lot of time in them, but because I actually live them! Xx

  7. I’ve never watched any of these but have heard about them. My TV tastes range from trashy reality UK shows (think TOWIE, Made In Chelsea and Real Housewives of Cheshire), through to Soaps (Emmerdale & Corrie being my fave), and British drama/thriller series’. God, I love TV! #thebabyformula

    1. You would love a bit of Catfish and Teen Mom then, I love a bit of trashy reality TV. So easy to watch. Box sets are definitely my friends. I have just watched Downton Abbey from start to finish! X
