This plus that equals…. Kids TV that makes me want to scratch my eyes out
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. Last week I shared my fave TV shows, this week I’m sharing the ones I hate most, and yes they are all kids TV shows. Needless to say they are all things my boy loves to watch, on loop, for hours.
Peppa Pig – Now I’m pretty certain a lot of parents are with me on this, but how on earth that whiny, spoilt little pig can hold L’s attention for so long is beyond me. Also if Sky could do me a favour and stop putting it as the picture on the kids section of the planner that would be great, every time we go into the planner and he sees that pig, guess what he wants to watch.
Bing! That bunny drives me crazy, Why is he so stupid? Oh no I picked the wrong toy. Oh dear I spilt my milk. What’s the deal with Flop? Is he a carer, a parent, why are all the grown ups smaller and knitted? How are they so uber patient? Do they have a hidden drink/drug problem? Is that why they are so calm?
Blippi. Now you’ll find this delightful chap on YouTube he make lovely video’s about tractors, bin vans, police cars, plane, my little one’s dream TV. He sings songs, awful songs, he wears stupid clothes, he is beyond irritating with his chipper, American attitude. Worse still, if I let him, my son would watch these videos all day long. Even just writing this I now have his ‘theme song’ stuck in my head, why is it so catchy, why!!! Oh and he’s actually taught L loads of new words and is actually quite educational so I can’t even ditch it in good conscience.
Topsy and Tim. This has actually got so bad that I distract the child with sweets if it comes on before I’ve managed to change the channel. Honestly how can a Kids TV show that is so boring have actually been made? I can barely bring myself to talk about it. I just mentioned the words Topsy and Tim to my husband, it’s so fake he responds, no one is that perfect.
In The Night Garden. I just don’t get it? How can the Ninky Nonk by level with Iggle Piggle knees but then he’s riding in it? Who thinks that catching either the Pinky Ponk or Ninky Nonk, that regularly crash, go upside down and look like they have the worst suspension in the world be considered a better way to travel? How do the Pontipines keep on loosing their children, once, well yeah I’m sure it’ll happen to the best of us. Twice, should raise concerns. But every single friggin day? Find them better parents. Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy’s highly inappropriate relationship, I need say no more. Oh and Makka Pakka, whilst I find him the least irritating character my son can’t say his name properly, turning it into a racist slur, which he will shout out loudly in public if we go past any of the copious amounts of merchandising, so thanks for that one CBeebies. Thanks.
To be fair I hate most kids TV, but these are by far the worst. Yeah I know I shouldn’t let him watch it, but sue me, I do. Sometimes mummy needs to zone out before going crazy. How do you feel about these shows?

Oh I so so SO agree! The scales on In The Night Garden drive me mad too. Oh and Bing is just so moany, though H does love both of these, I can’t turn them off, especially if I could have a cup of tea 🙂
Thanks for linking up to #thebabyformula and hope you can this week x

They are worth it for a break! Peppa Pig is the reason I’m editing a vlog right now!
I sit here writing this CBeebies on in the background, I have been known to have it still on when my little one is asleep – usually because I can’t find the remote or I’m too busy blogging to turn it off. I find most of the shows fairly annoying too, my little one is a huge fan of In The Night Garden, it’s part of our bedtime routine, and I think that she loves Iggle Piggle as she does this rocking motion when she seems him on the screen. I do find it a bit weird when Iggle Piggle and Bella have a kiss. The other show I quite watching is Rasta Mouse! Thanks so much for linking up again this week at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x

I always find myself with Cbeebies still on even though L is no where to be seen! Glad it’s not just me. I’m a bit obsessed with Hey Duggee sadly the child is not, so I have to persuade him to watch it!
My daughters, aged 8 and 6, love Barbie – Life in the Dreamhouse and My Little Pony. Ughhhhh. They are the worst! I’ve banned Barbie outright, but MLP is still watched regularly.
I don’t mind Peppa Pig actually, but In the Night Garden is awful. I haven’t seen any of the others you mentioned!

I can safely say if you haven’t seen them keep in that way for your own sanity! I don’t blame you for banning Barbie, it sounds awful xx
But seriously though, what is the deal with Flop? Is he somehow related to Bing? Why is he so small?! And I’m completely with you on the whole Sky/Peppa/Kids tv page thing, so frustrating! x #TwinklyTuesday
If someone could answer the flop mystery it would at least put me out of summer of the bing related misery! Thanks for popping by xx
Bing is my sons favourite show and I hate it!! Not as much as I hate Peppa Pig though, I am so sick of that annoying theme tune and Daddy and his big fat belly!!! #thebabyformula

Why is it they love the ones we hate? Peppa is the what though isn’t she, so annoying. Xx
My hatred for Peppa Pig is so real! She’s such a spoilt little brat it drives me insane! #thebabyformula
Peppa winds me up so much, I just can’t stand it. The theme tune is enough to send shivers down my spine!
