This plus that equals…. things that make me happy.
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about things that make me happy, after a few days feeling down in the dumps, it’s time to focus on things that cheer me up.
My Son – He’s so happy and so funny, it’s hard not to be happy when I’m with him. He picked me flowers when he was with his nanny for the weekend and was so happy when we picked him up. He’s been a horror as he is so tired, but also just the cutest, yelling from his bed when he should have been sleeping that he loves us.
Walking – It’s a combination of getting outside and exercising, the beautiful countryside I get to explore as well as the peace and quiet. It doesn’t matter what kind of mood I was in before my spirits are lifted after a good walk.
Writing – Writing helps to centre me, just the simple act of putting my thoughts into words. Sometimes I will be sad as I’m writing and will only get worse as I formulate my thoughts but afterwards I will feel 10 times better and it really helps me get back to my happy place.
Disney – A good Disney movie will always make me happy. The fact I now get to share them with my son is so much better. OK my choices are a bit more limited and it can take a good 20 minutes to persuade him to watch something other than Cars. But for those moments I get to share a new film with him, it’s worth it. Last week was Lilo & Stitch, this week it has been Finding Nemo.
Music – There are some songs I can just always rely on to make me smile. A little bit of Bring Me The Horizon. Maybe some Fall Out Boy. Always New Found Glory. Whilst I’m working, in the car, dancing in the kitchen with L, it doesn’t matter. Music is always a fail safe option for making me happy.
What makes you happy?
Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #StayClassyMama and #Blogstravaganza
