Posterlounge Review and Competition

In a couple of weeks it is my husband’s birthday. One week after L’s as it happens. The last few years his birthdays haven’t been so special, I’ll be honest. So this year I wanted to treat him to something lovely and I got him some fabulous and very special prints from Posterlounge.

Looking back on our travels

You see as birthdays go he has had a bad deal. He spent one in hospital with me after L was born.  The next one I can’t honestly remember, we had a one year old, I had barely slept in a year. He spent last year at soft play, every parent’s dream! This year he gets to go to my aunts wedding, I’m sure it will be a lovely day, but it’s hardly all about him!

It’s not been the best as you can see.

So this year I wanted to spoil him a little bit with his gift. Just remind him that we do still think about him and he is not forgotten. So with the help of Posterlounge I’ve been able to take him on a little trip back in time, one that we can keep forever on our walls.

They look amazing on the wall

I got him a fabulous photographic print from Lake Tahoe, where we got married, it’s stunning. To add to that I also got him another photographic print, but this time of the Giant Redwoods in California, to remind him of the drive we took along the 101 from Fort Bragg California to Portland Oregon a few days after we were married. Along that journey we actually stopped at Giant Redwood you could drive through. It was a brilliant trip.

I loved the selection of different prints available from Posterlounge, you could type anything into the search bar and come up with something. Even when I got a bit more obscure in my hunt, there was a fabulous advertising poster for Chico, the small university town we were staying in with my Great Aunt and so many of the other places we visited. Normally we just have San Francisco as an option, but oddly enough we already have a lovely print of the Golden Gate Bridge at home that we bought during our travels.

The acrylic is lovely and thick, so shiny too

Not only was the choice fabulous, posters for kids rooms, offices, lounges, bedrooms, kitchens, arty prints, advertising style posters, photographs and more! You also get to choose the size you get your poster in and how you have it printed. A standard poster, wall sticker, onto wood, framed and more.

I opted for both of our pictures to be sent as 60 x 20cm Acrylic Glass. The sizes have fitted perfectly in our lounge and I have displayed them under our poster from Lassen Volcanic Park, which is where we got engaged. The acrylic glass gives the pictures a beautiful depth and means we don’t need to worry about frames matching our existing artwork.

We got L a lovely picture as well

I couldn’t be happier with them and husb was over the moon. Such a thoughtful gift and documenting our time together in a really lovely way.

As I didn’t want L to feel left out and especially as we have just decorated his bedroom I treated him to a little print of a Tractor, of course. He obviously loves it, it’s a tractor. He just wanted to spend some time in his room to look at it, which was cute. I love it as isn’t childish or cartoony, it’s an actual photo  of a tractor but just with a pop of colour for the actual machine and the background left black and white.

I love the finish on the Alu-Dibond

For his I went for a smaller option, only 30 x 20 cm and got it printed on Alu-Dibond, so it’s basically a sheet of Aluminium. It’s going to be hard wearing which I like and it works so well with the tractor theme, being printed on metal. It also has a lovely matt finish which is very pleasing and is so light and easy to hang.

The website is really easy to use and all the prices are upfront as you make your size and printing choices. I liked that you could see straight away how much something would cost, instead of having to wait until checkout and potentially make changes as you do with some other sites.

Mount Lassen, where we got engaged

Delivery was fast and the pictures were so well packaged, it’s always a worry when something so fragile is shipped, you can never be sure how it will arrive but all the corners were protected with foam and the fronts had peel off covers so they were undamaged and scratch free, it was then further wrapped for added protection.

We’ll definitely shop with Posterlounge again, I’m already looking at getting L a couple more of the tractor prints!
