So in about a year I am going to be a bridesmaid for my little sister. This is just the kind of goal I need to start losing some weight and getting healthier, which all ties in nicely with my quest to be a calmer, happier and healthier person.
I have decided to vlog about my journey as that will give me a visual reminder of where I’ve been and where I am and as it’s something that makes me rather uncomfortable it will also help to keep me in check. Plus it’s always good to push yourself.
During my journey I will be getting to try all kinds of new products and sharing my experiences of them with you.
For the last 7 days I have been using Purition. Purition is a wholefood shake that is packed with protein and can be used as a meal substitute or to enhance your workout. I chose to have a shake for my breakfast everyday.
With a pack that gives you 10-12 days’ worth of Purition costing £22.95 I think it lines up well with similar products on the market but to start with I would recommend a sample box with the range of flavours for only £12.99. You’ll know if you like it then and without spending too much.
Purition works by combining real foods, like nuts, seeds and coconut, not a load of chemically formulated foods whose names you cannot pronounce and I liked this idea. I have used protein shakes before and always been left with a weird after taste not to mention that I had no idea what they were really made of.
You can mix Purition with milk or yoghurt, I went for milk, I didn’t have any yoghurt in the house.
For me the negatives have been that drinking a lumpy a drink is just plain weird, it took some getting used to but once I did I was away. The only other negative point for me was that every single flavour tasted exactly the same, I really liked the fresh nutty taste, but if you’re expecting strawberry and get nutty you’d be disappointed.
The positives have been the delicious flavour, that they made me feel full and fitted into my routine with such ease, I even used them whilst we were on holiday, they were that easy to add to my routine.
So what about my weight this week? Well it’s stayed the same, again. This is both disheartening and pleasing at the same time. Two weeks in I would have liked to have seen some change but equally to have remained the same after Easter and a weekend away with eating out and chocolate and treats is really good and I pout this down to simply switching my breakfast to a Purition shake.
Because I’ve been away my fitness tracker from Terraillon has come into it’s own, we’ve walked miles and miles and it’s been really pleasing to see my steps going up and up and up, I even got my channel crossing award for having covered 39km, I love the rewards you get with the Terraillon app, but it is very buggy, so I have only just got my Chanel Crossing 39km, which is correct, but after day to I had got awards for covering the distance from Paris to New York, sooo wrong and I’ll now not get anything when I do reach that milestone which is a shame.
Today I started The Lemon Detox, which means no food for five days, wish me luck!! I’ll update you next week, in the meantime here is the second instalment in my journey.
Disclosure – I have been sent my products free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
