I have been sent the Ring RTC1000 Premium Rapid Digital Tyre Inflator to try out and review. I got it a few weeks ago, so I had it ready for Mother’s Day. A bit of a different and entirely practical gift, obviously with everything that’s been going on recently I haven’t had a chance to write about it yet. So now, better late than never, here are my thoughts.
My first thoughts on opening the box were just how small it is! I already have a tyre inflator for my car, it lives n the boot, it is easily twice the size of the Ring RTC1000 if not more. To then find a set of gloves in the sturdy protective case, spare dust caps and a spare fuse I was very impressed.
The dust caps are super handy, you’ll know this if you’ve ever dropped one in a gravel driveway! The gloves are just practical and the spare fuse is great too, it took me 20 minutes studying the handbook, 10 minutes finding the right place in the car and a screwdriver to find the spare fuses stored in my car which I needed when the cigarette lighter fuse had blown.
As for using the RTC1000 it couldn’t be easier. To be fair I have no idea why they even send it with instructions, it is that easy! You plug it into the car’s cigarette lighter. Turn the yellow dial to set the target pressure, 37 for me. Attach to the tyre. Press the on button and wait.
It’s that simple. It stops inflating automatically when you get to the target PSI and you’re done, simple.
It has a light on it, just in case you are checking the pressures in the dark, or have been caught out with a slow puncture and need to inflate your tyre in the dark.
The power cable is long and handily you can wind it back into the inflator, no folding and squeezing it into a space just a bit too small, a simple lever to coil it back in nicely.
All in all I am very impressed with this. It is well worth it’s £49.99 price tag. It’s simple, compact, powerful and quick. It’s genuinely a brilliant gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, in fact any day where the recipient will be the driver of a car. Tyre pressures are an essential part of car maintenance that can be easily forgotten or put off, but this makes it so simple and straightforward you’ll never put it off again.
Disclosure – I was gifted my RTC1000 in return for an open and honest review.
