Not long ago L was lucky enough to get the Schleich Wild Life 4 x 4 Vehicle to review and not only did he love it, I did too. So when he was asked if he would like to have a look at the Schleich Dino Set with Cave we were both really excited as we knew it would be great quality and a lot of fun.

At £44.99 for the set it was going to have to be good and just like the other Schleich toys we have had it is fabulous. The attention to detail, the amount you get, the sturdiness, the unexpected features. We are smitten. 

These are toys built to last and toys that have been made in a way that they are sturdy enough for 5 year olds to play with but are realistic enough, with great detail for far older children. If you’ve got a toy that’s going to last years, it’s worth spending a bit of extra money.

For me one of the real plus points is the amount you can add to the sets, Schleich is on our list of toys to collect for L now, especially as we can ask for specific things and at great prices, a single dinosaur doesn’t cost much at all but will be loved just as much and add to the set perfectly. 

The Dino Set with Cave comes with a lot and is a great way to add to any dinosaur collection and enhance the play as it really captures the imagination.

You get the cave, which comes in two parts that click together. To add to this you also get a column of rocks, with a small boulder that can be added to the top of the column and work as a support for the huge slab of rock that sits on top, ready to crash and fall if the dinosaurs knock down the column. You can also change the layout quickly and easily to create a catapult!! What kid doesn’t love smashing and bashing with their toys? Well this os designed for it. 

As well as the cave set up you get a cool dinosaur skull with hinged jaw and three dinosaurs. Three! A Microraptor, a Psittacosaurus and a Herrerasaurus which also has a hinged jaw.

I love that you don’t get your bog standard dinosaurs with the set, your T-Rex, Stegosaurus and Triceratops whilst great dinosaurs are super common when it comes to toys. A Herrerasaurus on the other hand, well this is the first one we’ve come across. 

The attention to detail is phenomenal, with fossils in the rocks and the dinosaurs almost being too good to play with, you can tell they have been hand painted with care and precision. He quite simply doesn’t have a dinosaur toy at home that comes close to matching up to these guys, you can immediately tell the difference in build quality and finish. They are amazing. 

Schleich also make other ranges of toys like jungle animals, farm animals, fairies and more. All of which look amazing.

L loves his new dinosaur set and is eager to add to it with various dinosaurs now on his birthday and Christmas wish lists.
