Sea Life Centre Hunstanton

We visit the Sea Life Centre at Hunstanton about once a year or so. We enjoy a visit to Hunstanton but it is a bit of a drive for us, so don’t go often, but adding a visit to the Sea Life centre makes it a great day out.

Facilities

There is not any car parking attached to the Sea Life centre but there is plenty of car parking in Hunstanton and really close to the centre. At £4 for 3 hours or £7 for 24 hrs you just need to make sure you have a bundle of change on you, the machines don’t take card and although there is an app available I struggled to find a data signal strong enough.

There are clean bathrooms and baby change facilities.

There is a good sized gift shop, a nice outdoor play area that L loves and a nice cafe.

The Sea Creatures

Like most Sea Life centres you are guided round various displays with a nice clear walkway.

There are viewing windows at different heights, steps and tunnels to explore and sea the fish from all angles. It’s fun.

Excitingly at Hunstanton Sea Life Centre there is a Seal Rescue Centre, it’s alway the highlight of my visit. I love to see who they have in for rehabilitation and watch them swimming in their pool.

They also have some very cute otters and last summer they opened a new Penguin Beach area. It’s not very large as you can imagine but you can get really close to the penguins.

You’ve got the classic walk through tunnel that we all love and you can be surrounded by sharks, rays and a beautiful Sea Turtle.

Then there are all the tropical fish you would expect and a jungle area which we always enjoy.

Other things to do

Hunstanton is a fab beach to visit. With lovely walks through gardens along the cliffs. Arcades a plenty, amazing fish and chips and a cute little town centre to explore.

There is an amazing fun fair, brilliant crazy golf and a drive (or walk if your littlies are up for it) to Old Hunstanton is lovely.

You’ve also got Norfolk Lavender nearby which is well worth a visit.

Overall

Honestly, I find for the amount of time you spend looking round the price is prohibitively expensive and I simply would not ever visit unless I had a voucher. Thankfully there is always a voucher to be found which makes it an affordable day out.

Even spending time looking at everything we are normally round in around an hour, maybe a little more if we stop for a play on the pirate ship. The ticket does let you pop in and out all day but in reality you’re unlikely to go in more than twice.

We do always go back though. I love seeing Seals and Otters and L adores the fish and that he can explore and go in and out of some of the displays.

Disclosure – we were gifted our tickets for our most recent visit but have visited many times previously. All thoughts, opinions and images are my own.
