WHAT: SEA LIFE sites across the UK and Ireland are recruiting a pirate or mermaid apprentice to go behind the scenes and learn all about how they care for the array of fascinating creatures that live there
WHERE: SEA LIFE centres across the UK
WHEN: Deadline for entries is 12.00 on 21st July
Roll up, roll up. Calling all scurvy sailors and salty seadogs! SEA LIFE sites across the nation are on the hunt for an adventurous newcomer to join the team and enjoy a behind the scenes tour as the SEA LIFE resident junior apprentice.
If that wasn’t exciting enough, the trainee junior pirate or mermaid will also win a National SEA LIFE pass for them and their family.
Along the way, the new recruit will have the chance to learn more about SEA LIFE’s captivating creatures and witness how they are cared for in the aquarium.
Once the behind the scenes tour is complete, the lucky buccaneer will get to encounter the legendary SEA LIFE pirates and mermaids themselves and enjoy a private meet and greet with Princess Mirlandra or Captain Timbers.
Have you got what it takes? Entering is easy!
To be in with a chance of getting the job, adventurers must be aged between seven and 12 and have a keen interest in all things aquatic.
They must conjure up an exciting short story, 500 words maximum, detailing the adventures of the resident SEA LIFE pirate, Captain Timbers, or mermaid, Princess Mirlandra. Stories must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 12.00 on 21st July to be considered for entry.
The winner will be announced on social media on Monday 29th July by Captain Timbers and Princess Mirlandra themselves. Shiver me timbers! What are you waiting for?
