However much I’d like to be able to take L to The Natural History Museum all the time, it’s just not practical. Thankfully the Natural History Museum Shop has some great options so that we can enjoy the fun at home.
We have been checking out the amazing Stegosaurus Hatching Finger Puppet which is £12 and a lovely First Colouring Book all about the Garden which is a bargain at £3.99.
I just knew L would love the Stegosaurus Hatching Egg, mainly because he already has the Tyrannosaurus Rex one. These lovely plush toys come inside their own soft egg shells which are easy to open and close with their Velcro tabs.
Once your dino has hatched you can use it as a puppet or just a soft toy for some good old dinosaur roaring fun. As puppets they are a slightly odd size, far too small to be a hand puppet but also a little large to be a finger puppet. Still for little kids they are great fun and they are really cute.
We’ve had a lot of fun with our Stegosaurus. He’s been to the beach and on a lot of day trips to the zoo. It’s actually a great sized soft toy for travelling and summer holiday trips. It’s small enough to fit a day bag.
The Usborne First Colouring Book – Garden edition is brilliant. Not just a colouring book as it also comes with loads of stickers. This time of year you can’t ask for more. It’s perfect for car journeys or to keep fidgety children happy in restaurants.
It’s also nice just to use at home, a nice bit of quiet and creative play. I love the charming illustrations and L loves pointing everything out to me and learning the names for few new things we haven’t chatted about before.
We always enjoy a little colouring in session and this is one of the loveliest books he has. I think it’s quite grown up, still easy to colour, but just nice.
We’ve really enjoyed having a little bit of The Natural History Museum fun at home and there are so many things to choose from the shop you can too.
