Surprise Box Club Review

I love a good subscription box, they are one of may favourite things. A box full of surprises through your door, what’s not to love? I also love crafting, I enjoy little projects that I can make quickly as I don’t have much time for my own crafting nowadays. Surprise Box Club has combined these two things so I was very excited to get to review a box.

I was so excited when my box arrived, I couldn’t wait to open it, a quick peek saw some tools that were very much not toddler friendly, but very much toddler sized, so I popped it to one side until I could have a proper look, the wait was torture. I made a quick unboxing video so you can see my immediate reaction.

Inside my box was everything I needed to make two craft projects, a paper tassel garland and a two strand crimp bracelet. I also got a lovely pair of Swarovski pearl earrings, something that the first 100 subscribers will be lucky enough to also receive.

What impressed me most was the inclusion of the jewellery making tools, in my case a chain nose pliers and split ring pliers, each month you will be sent the pliers needed for that make until you have a full set. To me that is just brilliant.

Boxes start at £18 per month depending on how you choose to subscribe, which considering all you get, even the tools, is brilliant value.

If you do decide to get a subscription you will be very happy and in month three another exciting treat awaits, your very own charm bracelet to start, with extra charms added monthly.

A week or so after it arrived I found myself with a free evening and sat myself down with husb in front of the TV for an evening of crafting fun.

I didn’t know how long each of the two projects would take so I started with the paper garland. Something I could see was easy and I would get finished in the evening.

All I needed to do was follow the instructions and cut some tissue paper, tape it at the top and tie it my lovely stripy twine. It was so satisfying to make, really quick and it looks gorgeous, mine is hung in the living room and I love how the heat from the radiator makes them flutter, I love that I made something just for me for once, not a kids craft, no something asked of me for another company, but for me.

As I was on a roll I figured I may as well start on my bracelet, I was having a lot of fun. Once again the instructions were brilliant, if I had got stuck at any point there are videos I could have watched to help me out, which is a great option.

I’m so in love with the bracelet I made, with the proper instructions, proper tools and proper findings I created something beautiful and professional. I have dabbled with jewellery making before but never made anything that looks quite this good, for me it was the addition of the crimping beads to start and finish each strand.

This is one of my favourite subscription boxes to date, combining a love of crafting with a love of happy mail. It has been well thought out, beautifully presented and will leave you with not only pretty jewellery you can keep or gift but a full set of tools so you can continue your journey.
