This plus That Equals…. My Birthday

This plus that equals…. my birthday

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. It was my birthday on Sunday, not a big birthday, nothing important. Certainly never something I’d usually write about but this year I had a lot of fun, real fun. So I want to thank everyone.

Feeling Calm #55

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

This has been the busiest week ever. To be honest I’m glad to see the back of it. Poor L didn’t stop all last week and so this week he is a horror. Husb and I are tired and bickering. Time for some normality to return I think.

Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Tasteful Hen Party Fun with Team Hen

Following on from my article yesterday about all the fun we had at my sister’s hen party I wanted to spend a bit more time telling you about the wonderful hen party goodies we got from Team Hen.

Organising a hen party is hard work, especially when there are 19 guests, the bride is your sister and your mum will be there. So many standard hen party gifts and tokens are just ridiculously tacky and flashy or adorned with willy’s.

This is an exciting ‘Feeling Calm’ for me, not only is it my first one back after a well earned break, a month long step back from blogging break, but it is also almost an entire year since I started my Calm journey.

Due to the break I have just compiled my top ten moments since my last update, next week will see normal service resume and I’ll be back to weekly catch ups.

Christmas Gift Guide 2016 – Want

So you know I love buying Christmas gifts for people, sometimes in can be tough to find the right thing though.

As I mentioned earlier, I love the idea of giving something that someone wants, something they need and then a little something to eat or drink. It keeps the gift giving under control and means the recipient gets a lovely mix of things.

I’ve already covered, eat and drink ideas for you, today is all about things people want. Continue reading Christmas Gift Guide 2016 – Want

He is happy with the attention for the day and it keeps both the cost and stress manageable for me, just, it’s still stressful filling your house with people, family or not!

Feeling Calm #38

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

This week has been crazy. We’ve done so much. We’ve been to London for a PlayStation Family event. I’ve been training, a lot. Mainly though L has turned three. Three whole entire years old. How did that happen?

Emotion wise I’ve been bouncing from amazingly happy to crushingly sad. For me this is a real worry as it’s one of my biggest indicators that the darkness is closing in. Another classic sign for me is the cold sores. Whenever I get really low I get cold sores. The 14 I have invading my lower lip at the moment though, is quite frankly, a piss take. At least because I know this I can concentrate finding a level place.

I need to find time to start meditating again. I’ve been having my lunch breaks in my car, so this seems like the ideal time for a few moments reflection. I also need to be writing, so I’m busy. Luckily I have plenty to write about. Without further ado here are my 10 moments from the past 7 days;
