The Wind in the Willows

As you all know I have been very much looking forward to the start of Interlude in the Close, the line up is phenomenal and it’s a joy to have theatre back.

Things kicked off with The Wind in the Willows, a musical production written by Academy Award winner Julian Fellowes with music by the award-winning Stiles & Drewe, presented by the Turbine Theatre, London.

Bee Wild at Pensthorpe this Half Term

If you are looking for something fun to do locally this half term then why not book yourself tickets to Pensthorpe? They have a totally awesome Bee Wild theme at the moment with a trail for the kids to follow and a fun Bee activity booklet. Plus at the end of the day, not only will your little one get one of the lovely Pensthorpe badges (anyone else got a growing collection?) but they’ll also get a little packet of seeds!

Half Term Plans

Other than being slightly confused with the May half term being fairly solidly in June I can’t believe how quickly it has come around. It means we’re nearly at the Summer holidays and that means L has nearly finished Key Stage 1!

I can’t go much further down that rabbit hole, this year is going by too fast and we haven’t really done anything!

Looking Forward to Spring

It’s fair to say I’ve felt a bit gloomy recently. Far from my usual positive self. Whilst it’s definitely ok to feel whichever way you want and I’m certainly not a fan of hiding emotions, they’ll only build up and up until they force their way out anyway, I do feel the need for a bit of my usual positive self to shine through. So I’ve taken a few minutes to jot down some of the things I’m looking forward to now Spring is on it’s way.

Getting Festive at Silverstone with LAPland

Last week we headed off to Silverstone to check out their most fabulous Christmas event, LAPland. It was brilliant. The lights, the atmosphere, the set up. Just getting to have be on such an iconic track in our car was amazing. It’s definitely worth a visit.

LAPLand Silverstone

Last week I left work a few minutes early so I could get home and fill the car with snacks, blankets and a small picnic dinner. I picked L up from school and as soon as we got back home, Christmas jumpers were donned and we got straight into the car and started our journey to Silverstone, we were on the road by 3.30pm which I thought was quite an impressive turnaround!

Boating on The Broads this Half Term

I am having the best time with L this half term. His school broke up Thursday and between visits to the zoo to meet a baby giraffe and pumpkin trails and patches we’ve been busy everyday.

But there’s one thing we haven’t managed to fit in. A day on the Broads in a picnic boat.

Summer Holidays at Roarr!

We spent a very happy and hot day at Roarr! with a very happy and hot child this week. During lockdown I had asked L to write down anything that he wanted to do once we were able and visiting the dinosaurs was on that list, so when we were gifted tickets to visit I couldn’t wait to tell him.
