Feeling Calm #130

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Well he’s survived school, so have I, just. We’re half way through week two and going strong. Let’s see how long it lasts.

He’s started school!! Obviously we’re only a couple of days in but other than a massive wobble Monday morning he’s done so, so well. I’ve not been too bad either.

A little bit of a quieter week for us. Busy around the house and trying to make the most of the last of summer before L starts school.

Oh my word this has been the most stressful, busy, brilliant week ever. Swindon, Trevornick, Southampton, Norwich. Hotel, tent, hotel, another hotel tomorrow and Thursday a boat. I cannot wait to not be travelling and have my own bed!! It has been epic though.

We are going on holiday at the end of the week and I cannot wait. I need a break. It will be so lovely to be by the sea and just relax a bit. Just before school starts, a perfect way to end the summer.

I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t know how much longer I can carry on being this busy for. I almost cried today at the thought of cuddling a puppy that had come to visit work. Random crying is a sure fire way to tell me I need to slow down, the only problem is, at the moment at least I don’t know how or when I can. Needless to say I did not meet said puppy, wasn’t worth the risk of a full blown, impossible to explain, sobfest.

It has been the most surprising and delightful week. Also stressful as it now looking like our extension may not go ahead, after we’ve spent thousands on plans and surveys and other preparations it now looks like Anglian Water may have scupper the whole thing over a 4 inch pipe. Hufff. But on to the good stuff.

We’ve had rain and storms and my sun has gone. Whilst I enjoyed watching the lightning, that was fun. I miss my hot sunny weather and want it back.

I am loving this weather! It’s so gorgeous. OK we have had to retreat indoors on a couple of occasions and L is consuming more ice cream than I would ideally like but we are having so much fun and can actually make plans that involve the outdoors!

The stress and anxiety is bubbling inside my chest as I type this. I night of anxious dreams that I can’t quite remember but can still feel. Issues getting a builder for our extension, the kid and scholl as well as a million other tiny things have left me feeling on edge. Breath deep. Breath deep.
