Feeling Calm #51

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

After a long weekend hen party-ing I am knackered but a bit of a break has been helpful and whilst I may be very busy now I do at least feel a bit more motivated.

I’m hoping that things will calm down a bit and I can centre myself once again and fall back into a good routine.

Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

My winning streak has come to an end. I have been feeling tired and stressed and struggled to find any motivation this last week. A long way from calm if I’m honest.

Things have gotten on top of me a bit and I’m desperate to get that winning feeling back. The previous few weeks I had been so organised and positive. I know exactly what has changed, well built up, but it’s hard to counteract it as it’s not something I can directly change.

Regardless, here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Feeling Calm #49

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

I’m still feeling good, long may this last. I’m feeling healthier, almost fully recovered. Have found to look after myself a little better and am generally enjoying life.

Using my diary to block out time for tasks and not taking on too much is really helping. Getting three days worth of training dropped on me at short notice hasn’t helped, especially as it is sinfully boring, but still by blocking out my time I am managing.

So here they are, my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. For the second week running I am on form, oh yeah! I’m ill as can be, pretty certain I have a sinus infection, but that won’t stop me! I’m calm, collected, ready for anything. My to do lists are still getting ticked off and mentally, if not physically, I’m feeling good.

I’m being careful not to take on more than I can handle. My diary is blocked out into the tasks I have to do and the time it will take me to do them. I’m also scheduling in down time and that is important. I think it is this change, the not taking on too much, that is really empowering and has allowed me to do so much more.

So here they are, my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

It’s not often you’ll find me saying this, but currently I am on form, the best form I have had in ages! Calm, collected, ready for anything. I’m handling my new job pretty well, I’m actually, dare I say it, after all that fuss and bother, having a laugh. At home the house is tidy, I would almost go as far as saying it is clean, but I’m on top of all the chores. L is perfect, as ever. My to do lists are not only getting ticked off, but they are longer too.

I’ve got this! It may only last this week, but hey, I’m going to shout it from the rooftops this week because it’s one hell of an achievement.

So here they are, my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Oh my word it’s been a busy week, which is why I’m writing this on a Friday instead of my usual Tuesday night ready for Wednesday. Between the start of Christmas in our house, appointments, work and everything else it’s been hectic. Throw in a last minute holiday to get ready for and what you have is a very exhausted little blogger.

We’ve also been busy having fun, so here are my top ten moments from the last week or so, I’ve lost track.

Better late than never here’s this week’s calm post. My 11 hour contract has morphed into 30+ hours the last couple of weeks and will probably stay around that level up until Christmas, the extra money is great but obviously it’s taking a toll. We also had a funeral to attend this week and I had a really bad migraine. It’s not all bad though, so here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days.

This Plus That Equals…. How I Stay Positive

This plus that equals…. How I Stay Positive

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about what I do to stay positive. This isn’t something that comes naturally to me, but it is something I have actively been working on this year. Despite finding it difficult at times I believe it is worth while and I feel so much happier for it, so I thought I’d share my tips with you.

Pretty flowers in the garden

After a string of amazing weeks it only seems fitting that things have gone terribly wrong. Having lost a major client I’m facing the very real possibility that I’ll have to return to work for a bit and put a pause on my Work from Home dream. Especially as my car has started making some very worrying and most likely expensive sounds. So it has been extra important to carry on with my gratitude journal. I need to stay focused. Remain calm and keep my balance.

So here are my top 10 moments from the past 7 days; Continue reading Feeling Calm #27
