Feeling Calm #159

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Things have been a bit better this week. The sun is shining and I have been making a conscious effort to look after myself, it’s been worth it. I know I’ve a tough time ahead, since we got a new manager at work we’ve had two team members hand in their notice. We’re a team of 5 including our manager. It’s about to get rocky, but there’s nothing I can do about that. Just got to stay positive.

Here are my top ten moments from the last week:

This Plus That Equals…. May Half Term

This plus that equals…. May Half Term

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about our plans for the May half term. I can’t quite believe that we’re at the halfway mark of the Summer term and that he has nearly completed his first year at school.

Well, well, well it’s been a week. Everything was plodding along nicely then it all imploded. It’s always fun to be the focus of a family argument that results in tears and people walking out of a cafe without paying. I’m not handling things particularly well at the moment, but this is my happy place, so we won’t dwell on it again.

This Plus That Equals…. Mental Health

This plus that equals…. Mental Health

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about Mental Health. Not actually because it is mental health awareness week in the UK but because I am struggling, a lot, and it helps to talk and I think (hope) it helps others to see how normal it is.

It’s been a bit manic with the kid back at school. He’s taken a while to settle back into it and been a bit of a monster in the evenings, a horrid mix of mentally exhausted but not physically tired. Bedtimes have been taxing to say the least.

I’ve had a nice week and have been able to enjoy the last week of the Easter Holidays with the kid. We’ve all had some time off and were able to do some lovely family things and make the most of the good weather.

This plus that equals…. Easter Holidays

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about back how we spent our Easter Break. Not that I’m sat on the sofa waiting for him to finish school, no, not at all.

Feeling Calm #155

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I’ve come to realise over the last few years of blogging that my blog is a very good way to judge how my mental health is doing. Regular posts, happy and upbeat. Missing the personal posts but up to date with reviews and paid work, need a bit of self care. Not writing at all, I’m struggling and need help.
